yes actually, there were two small delays, one the shop that I am taking my car in, their lift broke. And then I went on a 5 day vacation. I am taking the car in on monday, they have all the flanges cut, so they are building the prototype, and from what I have heard octoberish we should have a y-pipe. Since Joe has already mentioned it on nissanclub.com, its Racingline whom I am doing the prototype with.AltiCoupeDriver wrote:Sorry about the thread jack, but Spockrock anymore info on this prototype your doing. Like what company?
Awesome. Do you have any idea if this will cause cel or emissions problems? Also, do think it will be a relatively cheap mod, say around 100 bucks?spockrock wrote:

LOL sorry man, when I mean hacked I do not mean chopped up, I come from a computer background, so when I say hacked I mean getting something to do something it was not originally designed for. My understanding was that this car used coilovers from a gen 3 altima but significant work was done to the coilovers to make it work in a gen 4.08altima35 wrote:how could you install a coil-over if it was hacked off at either end? that's rediculous
Ok I think blake knows what I am referencing, so which car was it that used gen 3 coilovers??adidas2go wrote:lol, he's getting the suspension stories crossed
I cannot say what the final pricing is, but it is a cheap mod. It should not create cel issues, but emissions it may.... speaking to Joe, it was to remove the 3rd un-metered cat. It may mean when you need to go for an emission test that you will need to run your car for about 30 mins or so until the two cats in the headers are warmed up enough.AltiCoupeDriver wrote:

ok so I am not crazy.....adidas2go wrote:It was this one However, they claim this setup worked. Some wierd sounds and shaky feelings were reported, but nothing major. Still enough to warrant a few question marks from me.
You can build bungs for the 02 sensors in the new pipe, but they would have to be further back from the engine, and be spaced. They need to be at a certain heat operating range to respond correctly. When placed correctly in the new Y-Pipe, this can be achieved. Eliminating the CEL.spockrock wrote:

Again I am sure warner or blake can better answer this question.
It would be better if it was a daily driver... maybe with a custom hood to keep water, bugs, random debris from destroying the turbo, and switching out the suspension setup for a safer daily driver setup, it wouldn't be that bad!SHIFT_COUPE wrote:The price on that is almost insulting to a potential buyer. Ridiculous.
