http://www.enjukuracing.com/sh....htmlI found this and am wondering how hard it would be to install and if I can use it with a short shifter. And if its even worth 90 bucks.

Well, if anyone else made it, I would say you'd be ignorant to buy that. But it is HKS so..........

do you miss 3rd and 4th? I don't know about this.

I guess it brings your shifter back to the center quicker. Don't get how to install these though. Odd product, but I am a little interested.

i was curious if they go in the bell housing or are part of the shift lever mechanism or what... is that the end of the transmission that connects to the drive shaft?

Oh yeah, these things.

I think they just make your shifter shaft more stiff and erect. So, it should just make everything feel more "new" and strong and whatnot.

I think.

So, they are stiffer springs, right?

They make the shifter feel more firm. It should feel "stronger" when you shift into each gear or any time you even move the shifter from the neutral position, right?

The shifter wobbles around a lot when you are pushing your car around a track (drifting for example).

If these do what I think they do, it actually seems like a pretty cool thing to get.

I found a little more about these springs. I'm pretty sure now too, that they are only for sr20. http://www.frsport.com/HKS-270....html

and ebayhttp://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...wItemon one of the descriptions it claims to be a very strait forward upgrade.

that sounds like bushings. these springs would firm 1st-n-2nd like what 5th-n-R is.

slop in a gear i dont think this would fix. this just makes it hard for full left and full right movements.

They should work for both SR and KA transmissions. IIRC they have the same transmission but with different bellhousings.

i have these installed on my car. i actually really like them. they come with 3 sets of springs of varying stiffness.

i have the medium stiff ones in mine, the stiffest ones are really f***ing stiff. shifts feel smother, more controlled, less play, the stock springs are a joke compared to these things. they do make a difference in how the shift feels.

I have a spare transmission, so I was going to remove OEM spring and see, but didn't have a socket big enough for the nut.

Anyway, did you try soft springs? I'm asking you because I need softer springs than stock. If HKS soft springs are softer than OEM, can I buy them from you? I'm sure, you don't want them. One more thing. Transmission fluid has ben drained to install these springs or not?
