The j I have is my bosses old car, and he was going to do the swap, but ended up giving the car to his mom and then sold it to me. That is where I'm getting all my info from is him.

Does anyone know of any sway bar companies that make any for the J, and if anyone makes pillow ball mounts of suspension arms to adjust negative camber. Someone told me to cut the arms shorter and weld them shorter, but I don't think I want to that.

Good info - pick his brain, ask him if he knows any other useful info! Thanks for sharing - not sure about the sway bars, or the negative camber issue!

Yeah, well the only ways on what I am looking for are custom or Jdm, if that.

OK I talked with Slim last night about the J30 thing.... Heres what Ive come up with and FEEL FREE to ask any questions...

1. This is just a tiny bit harder than an actual engine swap in a Z32. Slim seems to think the turbo manifolds wont get in the way. He says that where there are primaries and pre-cats, there's turbo on the turbo models.

2. Even if it is a problem, he thinks it will be close enough that a little bit of hacking and cutting wont set us back...

3. The only problem area he sees is in the steering column but he doesnt seem concerned.....

Like I said, this all assumes that a new exhaust will be made. No way youd want to deal with all this and just use the J30 exhaust....

ESPECIALLY if we plan on using the automatic tranny, he thinks this will be as simple as an engine swap with just a few little changes to be made once its all put together....

1993Tan... Give slim a call, I have sparked his interest in the whole project and this is something he really wants to do... Its SO simple its stupid why it hasnt been done yet!

if your going to buy a clip, let me know because I want the tranny and all the parts (the MT)

Alright, I'll get in touch with Slim...

I was hoping to sell the MT from the clip, and put that little bit of cash towards the project!

Did you ask Slim if he'd help us with the actual work?

Thanks!

i spent over an hour with an infinity/nissan dealer on the phone yesterday. the guy was pretty bored so he helped me reference j30 parts and 300zx parts. all the pulleys belts and coild pakcs, plugs, and 99% of engine internals for a n/a 300zx and maxima are the same as the j30 so we can look for parts that way. i asked for lifters, pulleys, coilpacks, plugs, cams, the engine in the j30 stock is exactly the same as in maxima and 300zx. even the part #s are the same.

Hey I was just wondering if anyone managed to get any information regarding the VG30DETT and that new Nico ECU that was supposedly in works. I just got myself a J30 97 and am hoping to make it significantly more powerful although it rides like a dream. Thanks!

im just posting this because it seems that no one or not many people anyways have put the 300z tt motot into the j30... well ive seen it done, ive riden in the car, and there was one for sale local (kansas city missouri) here is his ad.........

I am thinking of selling my Twinturbo Infiniti j30, It has the 300zx twinturbo engine with nismo 550 injectors, jwt intercoolers, jwt computer, twin pop, HKS & Blitz BOV's, ACT 6 puk brass clutch(stage 3), UR underdrive pully, custom driveshaft, Twin large oil filters, Twinturbo rear brakes, Short shifter, light weight flywheel, split downpipes, off road pipes, HKS silencers, stock wheels & 300zx wheels with 28" tall x 11.5" wide ET streets.

Also has Air controled clutch, not hydrolic or cable. It is perfect for racing but pisses ya off when trying to leave a stop light with a cop beside you. When you shift you hear a large discharge of air and the tires break loose when shifting. If whomever buy the car does not like the clutch like this I can put in the dampener that is controlled by a switch to go between soft or hard shifts.

Car needs hood replaced.

I may keep it and go to the sport compact event at KCIR,

Call 913-915-3086

im thinking il be doing the swap in my j30 in a year or so.. but i wont be using the stock longblock.. im allready looking for the entire setup but w/ the auto trans... just thought id post this.. from what ive read etc.. its not a very hard swap todo at all......

From what I gather you need the engine or maybe just the turbos and intercooler is that right?Maybe a new ECU to go along with it. I just bought the car and am paying it off.All I want to do is strap some turbos on the engine that I have currently. If anyone can help it would be much appreciated.

you will need the COMPLETE motor, harness, ecu, fuel pump, and if your going w/ a 5spd you will need the trans and a different drive shaft to.. not sure about the automatic.. i want to run a built automatic trans w/ stall conv behind the TT motor.
