yah domo kun is god

I don't want a DIY i just want a part list. Everyone that has done these DE/E swaps hasn't made a list. I can't really afford to waste money or have random parts siting in my garage

i bought a complete motor from a guy, then took it apart, cleaned it, and put it back together with E pistons, new gaskets, and my old exhaust cam as intake cam.

A guess as to why it won't start:

Your distributor is 180 degrees off. Since the crank turns twice for the distributor turning once, you can set it up so it's completely backwards from where it's supposed to be, and the spark plugs will be firing during the exhaust stroke, making it kind of.. not work at all.

Also, what's up with the throttle cables in this picture?

Mine aren't crossed like that. Was that how yours was before?

don't know if i posted this somewhere else but i was asking i don't know what i need.

I know i need the intake manifold, header, and head. But do i need the distrubtor from the de or what about the wiring and ecu? this is all confusing when all these write ups are missing the main thing

today i swapped plugs and turned the distrubutor over 180º, and same still no go. i smelled gas when i pulled the plugs out, so fuel is being delivered to the cylinders. any other ideas out there? for the record i also took out the aiv and plugged the egr pipe outlets (egr itself is still on the intake mani, but with nothing hooked to it)

and the throttle cables weren't even hooked up in that pic, lol. we disconnected em so we could drop the plenum.

for some reason when we took my brother's dizzy out it was not giving the right timing. We had to spin the pulley to tdc and pull the dizzy many times before it cranked. Maybe you have a similar problem? I'm guessing no timing advance/retardation was involved yet?
