looks good. I'd like to drop sohc pistons in my motor, but I don't have as many friends willing to help me out.

here's a fun hint for viewing the site: if there aren't any pics of people on a certain day, i was the only one there. haha!i worked by myself 5 days in a row, and those happened to be the days i was actually rebuilding the motor.

Yeah, i think im gonna take a dremel and extension and clean out my head. How did you get everything so clean and shiney? And did you just use high heat engine enamle to make it look good?

Damn.. that's a nice guide. I was thinking of doing that while I did a lot of suspension work last summer, but I got too lazy to take pics and stuff. I just wanted to get it over with. So thank God people like you have patience. haha

No. The s13 exhaust cams can be used as intake cams. They have 248 duration.

that intake manifold looks nice. i'll keep that in mind for the future.

no, i don't have the part number. they are ITM pistons and the rings came with the pistons

I think he meant 'mani' as in 'manifold', but he's yet to offer any compelling reason why not.

corrected...

and I'm not providing any info 'cuz there's just too much on the internet already. I just don't want to go into the physics of runner lengths, valve timing...etc, etc, etc...

Ah the old "Go look it up, because I really don't have any argument, and this should keep you from noticing". Good show.

right and how is your argument any different than that of newbs not wanting to search for any "sr swap" info?....you do what you want, i'm done killing this thread. I'm sure driftaholic is smart enough to at least look it up after doing all this to his engine. And hopefully eveyone else considering this option. Just 'cuz you think your product (or friend's product) is gonna work, doesn't mean you have to shove it down our throats and still make us like it.

PS: If Ppl are not aware of what goes into intake length and manifold tuning, then yeah I'll post some info.

Yes. Reversion waves. Everyone is aware. Manifold length still has an effect beyond reversion waves. Theoretically (assuming the KA manifold length is 18 inches), you could make a manifold with even longer runners to get the reversion effect, yet the engine would breathe even worse at higher RPMs. Runner length is mainly a compromise between building air velocity to create a slight forced induction effect, and being able to move enough air in time to fill the cylinder at high rpms. If a reversion wave was all you wanted to consider, then you could make the length any number that divides evenly into 18.

There's a reason why N/A race engines use an ITB setup, even if they aren't ridiculously high revving.

hmm... i do apologize for the earlier post. I had seen your original intake post, and thought you had posted pics. However, these were pictures posted by another member used in turbo applications and their design seemed somewhat inconvenient fo na. I do however, am still a bit skeptical, but will follow the other thread w/much attention.

anyways, some pages:http://auto.hostuffworks.com/question51 ... jo....html

yes, then you can have 1/2 your car be a giant gas tank

I am just kidding around becuase i know the gas milage has got to be crappy after the upgrade.
