Take pictures. Just know that through some form of connector BS, the bulbs have to connect to the ballast, and the ballast has to connect to your factory headlight wires.

Your ballast should not be drawing power from the headlight harness. The only thing that the headlight harness's should be providing are the "trigger" for the relays that should be used in order to provide power to the ballast so that your HID's will power up.

This relay harness is for a 1995 240sx. It was used to power up, TSX projectors. (TSX are low beam projectors ONLY, not bi-xenon).

Got it all figured out weeks ago. Appreciate it though. I did it the same way you posted. Power from the battery. The harness they sent me was a backwards piece of junk. I had my friend look at it who has done tons of hid installs and way more above and beyond and he looked at the wiring they gave and was like WTF. I had to go to lowes to grab some 16 gauge wire iirc and extend the wiring they gave me cause ddm tuning is apparently garbage now. Will never do business with them again.
