Yeah, I was posting from my phone last night so I didn't go that far. I only asked because you two, same as me, would have been on the streets in the 80's and early 90's when the TR's were current models. My dad had an '87 Turbo T, white, with the W04 black out package and there were many, MANY guys that got their asses handed to them and had no idea what did it.

I think that the circles we probably all ran in were all car guys and as car guys, we would know what was what but the general population would not. At least until they got schooled and figured it out.

Another car that could be considered a sleeper is the Mercedes E550, especially if you rebadged it as an E350. They're as quick as the SRT-8 Charger/300 and look like any other E-Class Benz.

Nah, my dad had no clue about cars when I was young. My mom knew more as she drove a sweet 'Cuda when I was born, but she never shared that kind of stuff with me... Hell, my dad bought an AMC Pacer (just like the Garthmobile except red) as our primary car until I was 6 and then we had a shi*ty slant-6 Plymouth Volare until the K-car and the minivan... I had to replace the carb in the Volare when I was 11 because he didn't know what he was doing. (the vacuum/oil/coolant line diagram was on the core support, lolz)

But I never was into cars until about 15 years ago...
