Hey guys, new user on here. I am a college student commuting an hour one way and an hour back for school at night and I think it's time for some hid lights. Can someone provide me with a link to some good quality but affordable Hid lights? Thank you :)

First things first, you need to get a pair of these:
http://www.enjukuracing.com/products/Se ... 52d94.html

Thats if you're still using stock lights

Just putting this out there, Ebay has a pair of H4 housings for like $10-20. It's not as good as these but if you're on a budget my friend says they work just fine.

And then relay your headlamps, and throw some Narva's on there.

Time for retrofitting.
Mini h1 4.1 projectors
Ebay 7X6 clear lense lights
H4 hid kit with h1 bulbs
Time to do the retrofitting.
Youll love it waaay more than just having hid without a projector.

In your standards sure, I'm just giving some other options. Not everybody is made of money.

Hella's are dirt cheap, I picked up mine for $80 at a local store. Not that expensive at all...

Yea sure its $80 but for somebody like me, being a college student getting only 12 hours a week on minimum wage, buying something for $80 or for $50 makes a big difference.

I'm going to agree on you that the ones on enjuku look poorly made and so does the ones on ebay though.

Why the hell would you modify your car when your a college student? I didn't when I was in school -_-

I've had my 240 since 2007, it's pretty much stock. I don't know why people with tight budgets want to modify their cars, that too with inferior products which end up being replaced with better ones in the future. Just wasting your money IMO.

If you can't buy the proper items, it doesn't mean you should install junk onto your car.
If you can't afford lotion, are you going to roll in mud?

Those come with H4 bulbs, and the ones you linked to are H4 bulbs.
Forget the hype about HID lights.
Proper headlights like Hella or Cibies with a bright H4 bulb are great.

Here's a picture taken by 94_240sx of his Cibie headlamps:

Proper cutoff, and great lighting.
On par with OEM quality HID projector setups.

Whats the differenct between $5 lotion and $100 dollar lotion, cosmetic wise they both do the same thing.
Minor cosmetics such as headlights souldn't matter whether it be plastic or glass, as long as it's clear and the end result is the same.

Just my 2 cents.

Why the f*** are you comparing lotions?

Anyways, stay away from PIAA bulbs, they're lamps are great, but they're bulbs are overpriced crap.

Visit Daniel Stern Lighting for bulbs.

I run setups from http://www.hidextra.com/ in both my Prelude (non projector) and Miata (projector). They used to be a NICO sponsor... not sure if they still are.

They are pretty inexpensive, and the results were immediate. I haven't had ANY problems out of them. I run 6000k temperature.

A lotion is a low- to medium-viscosity, topical preparation intended for application to unbroken skin. By contrast, creams and gels have higher viscosity.
Lotions are usually applied to external skin with bare hands, a clean cloth, cotton wool or gauze. Many lotions, especially hand creams and face cream are formulated not as a medicine delivery system, but simply to smooth, re-hydrate, and soften the skin. These are particularly popular with the aging and aged demographic groups, and in the case of face usage, can also be classified as a cosmetic in many cases, and may contain fragrances.

You're taking the lotion analogy too literally.
And the difference isn't minor cosmetics.
The design in the headlamp manipulates the light from the bulb to give you proper lighting so you don't drive around like a ricer with an eBay HID kit in your civic who is shining light at the houses instead of the road and blinding other drivers.

These are glass, cheap, have a bulb shield and you can try the included H4's first and upgrade to HID later if you want.

Why give false information?

NO, you can NOT put HID's in ANY halogen housings, including E-codes.

Sure you can. An HID bulb just has to share the same mounting properties as the factory bulb. Then you wire in a ballast, and bob's your uncle.

Uhh this definitely isn't impossible dude.

Is it as optimal as having a projector beam housing? No, but its better than a normal halogen.

Yes?
