Congrats, man! Welcome to the club!Yes, the 01+ QX4s have a timing chain. I'm unsure of the changing intervals, but I'm sure someone here knows.I got an idea for what you could do- get some pics and post them up!

Before you pay for anything, have these checked first at the dealer to see if you qualify.

Yea I got under the Q4 and it is not the tank that is leaking it looks to be the pipe just as the recall says.

OK then on the recall! FREEBIE!

OH about carfax. I have a car that I bought new in 04! Carfax said it was registered in Florida and had an accident there in 06! Hmmmm, I live in California and as far as I know, never even drove it to Florida! Unless it was that night I let my daughter use it!

i think there is a recall from Nissan & Infiniti about this issue. call your Infiniti dealer to have them replace it.

Yes infinity will be fixing it tomorrow, on them, I have to go burn off half a tank of gas though, It does seem like these Q,s are driving machines, I have to get used to the power plant; seems very strong , Anything I should know??

Lets say you were taking a 10 hour ride , at what speed do you feel these Qx4 s like to cruise at? Do some of you folks drive these pretty hard? I am pretty conservative driver but this motor feels like it wants to play wants to run ___

do this, simple and costs nothing, i did it on my pathfinder and it helped LOADS.

you will notice a helluva lot better pull once you punch it either passing someone or accelerating onto the highway/freeway etc. like i said, you definitely feel a difference and it pulls right away and strong.

I tend to set the cruise at 120 Kms/hr (75 Mph). It will run happily at that speed all day long. The engine is running at around 2800-2900 rpms at that speed.

They had the same recall on my 2000 QX4. Ours never leaked, but it was in the shop for about an hour and they replaced the filler pipe for free. A potential leak is the cause of the recall. Sounds like yours is having that problem. Just call the dealer, they'll take care of it.
