240sx with ABS = 4.083'92-'96 J30 = 3.916Z32 = 4.083

They are so close you won't feel a difference.

I think the bolts you are talking about are to the output flanges. The 240sx uses 3 sets of 2, and the Z32 and '92-'94 J30's use a 5 star pattern. I really don't know anything about these, lol, so don't hold me to anything Im saying. I think you have to convert these over to fit a 240sx with different output shafts or axles.

Yeah it would be easiest to use one from another 240, only problem is you may have trouble finding a true VLSD when most are going to be open diffs. The good part about getting one from a Z32 or J30 is you know they will be a VLSD, because they never came with anything else.

To identify one by looking at it, they should have an orange sticker on the side that says Viscous. Also, if the rear wheels are off the ground you can spin one side and if the other side turns along with it that means it has a LSD.

The sticker is not difficult to locate either. Just thought I'd throw that in there

Haha.

You forgot to mention when spinning the tire watch for pebbles stuck in the tread. They can tear up soft hands

how does the kaaz unit stand up the the vlsd, i'm thinking that maybe i should go with what i know will be a lsd, instead of getting screwed (which sounds very possible), i know you guys are just trying to inform me with what is possible, but damn it sounds a little hard to come across a genuine vlsd

A KAAZ LSD is different than VLSD's. Like I explained earlier, Viscous diffs use the silicone expansion to lock the wheels. However, KAAZ (and other companies like Tomei and Nismo) use a clutch-type diff. I really don't know how they work, but you can adjust them according to how easy you want it to be to lock the wheels together. You can get these in 1.5 way or 2 way - 1.5 way applies even power under acceleration and 50% power to the inner wheel when cornering. This is more ideal for beginner. A 2 way gives the wheels equal power under acceleration and deceleration, so the 2 way may be better but harder to get the hang of.

BTW, KAAZ makes LSD's for Tomei, and Nismo does as well, so I don't really think one brand is better than the other.

Here ya go, if you're really serious with your questions call KAAZ - 888-522-KAAZ
