Well to get started i have a 07 nissan altima with about 7gs of money into ill have to post pixs later but my main concern rite now is to get this baby turbo. Its a 4 banger with a cvt trannny and i need to know what kind of standalone ecu is used for altis and if anything does anyone know how to rebuild a cvt if its not reliable. Please help guys because im just about to stop this project car and get an 350z or g35 if i cant turbo it!
75 shot on a 4cyl CVT?? have fun getting them replaced. if u want to do nitrous safely (after tune w/ nitrous) it'll be a 50 shot. CVT is still questionable.broskie hoskie wrote:alright soo changed my mind on doin boost...man oh man i wish but since hearing bad news bout the cvt i quess not..well since i can boost why not nitrous the f**ker up..im gonna take advice from one of you guys and get an uprev ecu but im looking to do a 75 shot still with the cvt. What ya think!
honestly. your probably better off trading in your car for one that has a manual transmission. The parts and labor will probably cost around 5<G's. someone on here probably knows, a few have done this.broskie hoskie wrote:Yo thanks jewelz for the info damn Cvt soo I quess my question now is how much for mtx swap and what is all needed!

I dont want ppl to misunderstand me if ur hinting at me, which is ok. I am all for making a 2.5 fast, and to me a fast 2.5 is more impressive then a fast 3.5 if their close. for a couple G's a 2.5 can be close to the 3.5 (plz dnt ask cuz im not telling till i do it) and there will be no harm to the cars reliability. Broski Hoski, I give u props for your enthusiasm. It's just that you have one fairly big problem, you car has a CVT which limits you. Which is why i mentioned it would be best to get a 6spd if you want to do something significant, or get the 3.5. Now, about spraying, I will help and educate you a little on it. Wet vs. Dry, everyone i have spoken to that races and knows about nitrous will tell you this, use a wet system, not the dry. A dry nitrous system is a lot harder to control, and as a result you are more likely to damage the engine. I dont know one person who uses a dry system, because it isnt nearly as safe. So, I really recommend you use a wet shot. Now about the amount to spray. I told you a safe amount to spray, and I also told you a 75shot is too much for the 2.5. It has been shown that to avoid affecting reliability of an engine you spray around 25% of it's HP. Meaning a 50 shot is fairly safe. anything above that and your likely to run into problems. look it up, what I'm saying will be pretty consistent with legit sources on the web. Nitrous has come a long way, and if you do it right your good to go. But dont even think of spraying unless you get a custom tune with it by someone competent. the BD tuner doesnt count, get the UP REV software. If you want the best you can get, do what I did, do lots of research!!! plain and simple. So if you want to listen to me or not it's ok, I'm trying to help on this issue, maybe I was a little harsh before.2010alticoupe wrote:Yeah I know where your coming from bro. Anytime anyone wants to add performance on a 2.5 everyone is quick to use the " should've gotten a 3.5 or trade it in" comment. Its pretty annoying actually. I wish you the best of luck bro, I hope that the setup works. The sad part is that some people are still gonna hate.
