I dont want ppl to misunderstand me if ur hinting at me, which is ok. I am all for making a 2.5 fast

oh no, bro I wasn't hinting at you at all. I see that you're trying help which is always a good thing. I'm referring to the individuals who just bash on people for trying to make their 2.5 quicker arrogantly. They don't try to help, they just end up making the OP feel bad. Not everyone is able to get the 3.5. 28k+ too much!

I agree with you on that. to me it's more fun making power out of a "weaker" motor then just having one with HP! a challenge is fun. But not meaning anything bad towards 3.5 owners :inout: , both versions of our cars are great :naughty: !

This thread is funny but innocent, and I like the enthusiasm also. Good luck with whatever you decide.

Okay wade you sound very convincing soo I'm gonna listen to what you have to say. I also wanna know more about ur car and what mods you have on it. So another question what happens if I rebuild my motor with the same Cvt is that gonna be able to handle it or I'm just s*** out of luck with the Cvt?

kill this thread with fire.

There is a lot of talking, but no one is saying anything. How many laps are we going to make around these questions?

I would much rather see pics of the 7 Gs spent on this ride

Naw keep this thread alive for a bit longer, I really wanna see this dude put in work on his car. But I do reccomend a change on the thread name since its no longer a turbo project (unless he changes his mind)

rofl swap motors? you need the following:

1. Proper VQ motor for this car.
2. Mounts.
3. Transmission.
4. ECU.
5. Wiring Harness.
6. Gauge Cluster assuming the original will not plug into this harness.

Just the motor alone will not work, ur looking at 10K with labour.

Or you could sell your 2.5 and buy a used 3.5.

a CRX is not comparable at all to an altima. You're not going to be running super fast times with it unless you have a boosted 3.5.

Regardless if your friend does it for fun, you're going to have a hell of a time finding parts and making everything work 100%. Half your battle is finding a manual trans for the 3.5L. Good luck, most can't even find them brand new.

I'm not saying it can't be done, however, the work involved is way more than you are expecting.

alright so got some great news from speed force racing, spoke to carl and there is a tested 2.5 single turbo bolt on kit tested to make about about 300hp with 6psi. Also there is an intake manifold for the 2.5 its about about 1099.00 dynoed at 30 hp but with a aftermarket throttle body it will make bigger gains. Once again folks no blown transmission on this kit on the cvt. If yall live in cali hit them up for this kit soo maybe income tax for me ill be getting this kit since xmas is right around the corner and my chica wants all this high priced stuff!

lol.... wow.

1. The kit is not designed for your model year.
2. The kit will need major modification to work.
3. The throttle body or intake manifold is way overpriced and the gains are minimal.
4. Re-read my whole turbo thread. Take advice from others.

You are getting in WAY over your head.

And there is no way that kit is making 300whp. It may be 300hp at the crank. Danny is running 10psi on a PROPER kit with UpRev tuning and I believe he hit 300WHP.

In any event. Stay the hell away from SFR. You may not know this, but its a HUGE rip.

SFR IS A JOKE AND THEY OVER ESIMATE ALL THEIR CLAIMS! (need for caps - i think so)

Full exhaust - 9psi - 285 whp/wtq. It was a hot and humid day when it was dynoed.

Stay away from SFR, use their turbo manifold but thats it.

also where is this IM? The one one their site is for the v6 with the same 30 hp claim. These cats like to make claims and have nothing to back it up. They got laughed off the forum the last time they tried to introduce this IM. Oh and the owner of SFR is the classiest dude ever! NOT...

talk to QR25DE a few posts up. His 2.5 6mt has had an ebay system for a while now, although I think he is upgrading to some higher quality stuff soon.

I'll be running the same s*** until the motor blows or I wreck the car. If I have to rebuild the turbo every summer I don't mind lol. Everything else works fine. :)
