i do not have the info you need, but try the search feature at the top right of the page . The red flashing button.

Also, checkout our technical forum, the stickies and stuff.

good luck hunting.

Just off the top of my head, I'd say 0-60 around mid to low 8's and quarter mile around high 15's if you can drive.

Top speed ~115mph, electronically limited, at least on 5 speeds.

Curb weight about 2800lbs, 155hp and 160 ft-lbs of torque. 2.4L inline 4 that sounds like a poorly maintained chain saw.

Rear wheel drive, excellent turning radius!

Edit: DOHC engine on the car you're looking at.

if you can get it at a decent price, get it. 97-98 are highly sought after

How much would you say is a fair or good price?

A few things to add are:

A 10 second 0-60 for an automatic (Which most 97-98's are) sounds about right.

Automatics dont have a speed limiter, not that its particularly important, just thought it was worth mentioning.

Here in so cal they go for 9k+ for one in excellent condition. Try to find one cheaper than that.

Btw, if this is your first RWD car and plan on drifting it, please dont get a kouki.

Agreed.

Are most Kouki's auto? Who the hell get's sport coupes that are autos?Who invented that abomination, anyway?

By the way, welcome to NICO. Always good to have another Kouki driver.

Well...I did....and I'm still looking for a good 5 spd transmission and parts to do a swap :P

I REALLY miss having a 5spd, especially in a sports car, but I must say that sometimes it's nice to have an auto when I'm in stop and go traffic (which happens on a daily basis for me).

I see, well you think that 98' 240SX SE is a good sports car for someone like me? I'm really looking forward on getting one, but I don't want a cow ya' know? You think with some modifications this car will be faster? and if so, what should I get?

Another great question for the search button!

But seriously check out the engine-specific forums here on NICO. The motor in your car is called the KA.

My opinion would be to buy a 95-96 240SX and swap the front panels if you like the look so much. You could save some money that way (and if you wreck it, its not like it was actually a kouki, lol).

0f course the car will be faster with modifications, and if it already has the basic upgrades on it you can always get a better suspension system. Then some comfortable seats, a nice audio setup, a turbo. stuff that your find if you searched

What will be some good, inexpensive modifications that will really help the car, I really don't care 'bout the horsepower or such, just how quick the car is..

240SXs aren't sports cars, they're just sporty.

If you want to modify it you need to commit to it. Also, remember that you will probably be selling it at a loss once you starting modding it if/when you sell it.

Gr3yG0os3, I dont mean to be the bad guy.

Please take the hint. Click the little search button: and look around. 1000 people ask the same things every week and we have plenty of threads that will tell you every possible way to do this.

If you have had a problem with people not answering your question, it is because we want you to search our very large archives for the information you need.

Hey, I understand your not trying to be mean, the thing is I want direct answers. I do use the search button and really...it doesn't give me the answers I want, reason being I keep posting these questions. Maybe you can find me a thread that will help but for now I cant find nothing that really gives me the direct answers I want, by the way sorry.

I have a Kouki, manual trans, I paid $7,100 for it about 6 months ago.It is in perfect condition, not an SE model, 100% stock, except for an LSD from an SE the previous owner installed. 90k miles, starfire blue.

I did a 5-lug conversion on it, tein springs, tokico struts, enkei wheels, and a front lip, it looks 342% better.

The stock twin cam KA is OK. Its not really that fast, it falls on its face in the upper-rpms, which is where the SR really shines.... but it will get you around town and you will look good in the car.

If you want some cheap upgrades, get the following:-Ebay intake system-header and exhaust system, with test pipe (no cat)-cams. Jim Wolf is a good place to get advice on which cams to get-Have Jim Wolf retune your ECU to take better advantage of your mods.

Probably out about $1500, or less, and your car will be a little faster. My advice is to save up for an engine swap....

But first the hard part.....finding one!

u can mostly anything in there . why do you want a '98 240sx only? if you are going to swap anyway. 98s are like 7 years old only thats kind of gay dumping the engine right off the bat when ir probably only has like 60-80k miles.

Well, i've made my decision, forget the engine swap you're probably right. I'll save money and plus i'm really gonna work on it, try to get anything to boost acceleration, top speed, torque, and horsepower. Just wanted something quicker, don't wanna look bad getting smoked by honda's, Lol.
