Actually I took off the oil pan and the Connecting rods are rusted... So literally everything in this engine has to be replaced.

And I have the number. I just want to track down the year and such

Ok so since I really don't have the money needed to rebiluild this engine right now. Ive been working on cleaning things up, to make everything easier down the road.

So I ordered some vht spraypaint online just so I could spray some of the main parts while I waited. Turns out this paint requires you to take the surface down to bare metal!

So I bought some aircraft paint remover and took forever to get the base black paint off of the balance tube. But it was definitely well worth it. After 5 coats of paint and an hour in the oven... The color is an exact match to the car color! WIN

Oh yeah, that looks nice!
Thanks for the mention on the vht online, didn't think about that looking for more color options in vht paint.

Yeah all I did was go on amazon and type in vht blue and found this. Its anodized blue. It goes on Crome or bare metal surfaces

Oh umm, I'd call a nissan dealership on that one. I'm at a loss on figuring that out. I feel like there's a "vin decoder" or something like that where part of the vin matches up with the engine number. I don't know where I saw that though.

I called z1. Apparently the only real change is the fuel injectors... So it really doesn't matter for someone that is going to do an engine rebuild
