The Cadillac Owners forum has a photo of the new (and accidentally leaked) Cadillac XTS, a front/all wheel drive twin turbo V6 luxury sedan.
http://www.cadillacforums.com/forums/20 ... c-xts.html

Below is the XTS concept that GM paraded around the auto show circuit last year:

And this is the final production car:

After receiving criticism for the XTS being tall, awkward, and jarring, GM delayed its release in order to refine its appearance and technology. Unfortunately, not much has changed. The fog lights are different as well as the shape of the headlights. The production car has different wheels, larger rear view mirrors, thicker door and glass pillars, and amber side markers on the wheel arch. The side profile looks to be mostly unchanged.

Overall, it lacks the stately appearance of the outgoing DTS, coming across as stubby rather than sleek. From afar, it looks like an enlarged Buick Lacrosse with the side profile of a Ford Taurus.

Expect twin turbo power to come from GM’s popular 3.6L V6, producing 320-350hp. There will be no DOHC V8, though an OHV V8 (like in the CTS-V) is rumored to be offered as part of a V-series package. With a front wheel drive architecture, more than 350hp seems unlikely.

To GM’s credit, they did say the XTS will be a stopgap, a segment filler before the arrival of Cadillac’s real flagship sedan. The XTS will compete with the Lexus and Acura. The Germans have no reason to be concerned, nor does Infiniti.

The 2012 concept car’s dazzling interior was going to make up for whatever else the car lacked.

Image

How much of this suede and leather decadence will carry over to the production car is unknown, to be revealed at the auto show in Los Angeles on November 16th.

Here’s a video demonstration of CUE, Cadillac’s infotainment and LCD digital instrumentation system:

GM says the production CUE system will be significantly faster and more polished. Note the use of annoying capacitative buttons on the instrument panel.

Cadillac appears to be slumming in entry-luxury territory. The self-proclaimed “new standard of the world” is hardly the standard of Peoria with cars like this.

In all fairness, I don't really see many cars these days that really capture my heart, especially in the luxury realm. They're all becoming too similar and there aren't a lot of cars out there that really have a lot of self defining character, IMO.

I do agree, the XTS looks basically the same as a lacrosse. My parents just got a lacrosse, and its a nice car overall. Way better build quality than their 2008 Lucerne. The lucerne was probably a better car overall with a more spacious back seat, trunk, and of course the torque of the 3800 V6.

It's got the Sonata / Accent side sweep.

What's wrong with keeping it CTS-like?

Do not like.

Hopefully, it'll have a decent interior. If the current CTS is any indication, it'll be awesome. The exterior is disappoint.

Why are they putting in touch buttons?
That would be annoying to use while driving.

That interior is HIDEOUS.

Like the inside of a cheesy space ship that got melted.

It looks like the damned MKS. It looks like s***.

The new grille is terrible. The proportions are backward. It's missing two cylinders. I'm going to laugh when the LS4-powered V variant records better highway and combined fuel economy than this misguided turbo V6 idiocy.

I don't understand why Cadillac is giving up THEIR game to play someone else's. They had no need to compete with Acura. This is like Peterbilt building a pickup truck.

I despise. It disgusts me. Get it out of my sight.

I hope it bombs and sells 5 cars a month and GM loses millions on it. The MKS sure hasn't helped save Lincoln, so I don't expect this to do anything for Cadillac that the CTS couldn't.

It's way too random. It looks like they went to the parts bin and said, "Hmmmm, what have we here?" Do not like, do not want. It's a big fat fail from the one division of GM I was starting develop an appreciation for.

Ugh. I wasn't a fan of that belt-line when Mercedes or Volvo did it, either.

Makes it look like the company decided to cut costs by having a damned 12-year-old do the preliminary sketches.

Well, I'll apparently be the first to say that I quite like the look of it. I actually like the production version a lot more than their concept version. Don't get me wrong, I'd still take a CTS any day over one of these here things, but for a Caddy, it is much more appealing to me than the DTS ever was.

The GM/XTS design team didn't appear to improve on the concept at all. They just managed to make it more weird looking. Who's to blame. Welburn? Nesbitt? Parkinson? Well Wolfe isn't at fault. Ford hired him away to shape the new look of Lincoln. Hmm?

The DTS is gone. So until the XTS hits the streets, the largest car (exterior wise at least) currently available from GM is? The Chevy Impala. Hmm again? The 2012 Impala gets a variant of the 3.6 liter V6 that began its corporate journey in the 2004 CTS.

With the CTS being the only Caddy sedan at dealerships right now, its also dwarfed by the Buick LaCrosse. The LaCrosse has plenty of rear seat legroom but its rear seat headroom leaves much to be desired.

In my wildest dreams, I never believed the day would come that the largest Cadillac sedan would be smaller than the largest Buick sedan that's smaller than the largest Chevrolet sedan.

The Mayans may have been onto something after all.

Expected to arrive in early 2012, the 2013 Cadillac XTS is Cadillac’s answer to… the Toyota Avalon? Riding on GM’s Epsilon II platform shared with the Buick Lacrosse, Cadillac’s otherwise talented designers were dealt a poor hand, forced to cram a full-size-like American car on to the underpinnings of a global midsize.

The result is an ill-proportioned body that’s as tall as Yao Ming with an obscene rear overhang that would make Kim Kardashian jealous.

You saw the leaked photos a few days ago. Here’s a few that weren’t posted before:

And here’s the specs:

POWERTRAIN:
303 horsepower 3.6L direct-injected V6
264 lb-ft of torque
6-speed automatic transmission
Optional Haldex all wheel drive

ECONOMY:
17 mpg city / 28 mpg highway for FWD
17 mpg city / 27 mpg highway for AWD

SUSPENSION AND BRAKES:
Brembo components
Magnetic Ride Control
HiPer strut suspension in front
H-arm rear air suspension with automatic load leveling
Automatic brakes/crash avoidance

SPACE AND DIMENSIONS:
202.0 inches long (207.6 in for outgoing DTS)
72.9 inches wide (74.8 in for outgoing DTS)
59.1 inches tall (57.6 in for outgoing DTS)
(This makes the XTS taller, shorter, narrower, and quite bizarre to look at.)
40 inches of rear legroom (exceeds BMW 5-series by 4 inches)
18 cubic foot trunk
Expected to weigh 4000-4200 lbs depending on equipment

FEATURES:
Cadillac’s CUE infotainment system with 8” touch screen, proximity sensor, voice control, and haptic feedback
Customizable 12.3” LCD-based gauge cluster
Alcantara headliner
Adaptive cruise control
Rear cross-traffic alert
Ten air bags
Safety/collision alerts with vibrating notification
Optional LED headlamps
Lineate or Zapelli wood trim
Front and rear park assist

VERDICT:
It’s your father’s Oldsmobile… with a Cadillac badge. Yawn.

That grille makes my lunch curdle in my stomach.
And it has exactly zero a**. NONE. At all. No hips, either. Just sort of a...blaaahhhhhhhh where the sloppy roofline becomes...the trunk...ish.
I can't believe they didn't push the rear axle farther back.

Gee, that's certainly impressive fuel economy that you couldn't possibly get with a V8.
THAT'S WHAT I GET WITH MY V8 YOU @#$#@%$@%^@%#$#@% #$@#$@! #$@%.
Did I mention I make more torque while getting better fuel economy? I do.

Well, at least the FWD layout saves weight.
