As we all know the sr20det is better than the ka24de unless you go ka24de-t. thats when the battle really starts. but what if there was a sr20de. who would be faster.

SR20DE(non turbo) vs. KA24de both stock.

The SR can hold boost better and is higher revving and has a more stable top end...N/A the KA is the better engine though.

I just wanna say that Va Beach sucks ***. No offense but I lived there and people really have their heads up their asses there. Thats why they hate on the SR20. Va beach is a place where you can get a ticket for cursing. A place where you can get a public intoxication ticket if you are drunk in your house and someone sees you b/c your curtains are open.

Why I liked the SR idea better?

My car had 200,000 miles on it. Parts were getting very old. For my 2200, my SR came with all accessories and the transmission. With 30-60K on them.

What does my 2200 get me if I go KA-T? Nothing, unless I build it myself. What does my 3000 plus get me if I go KA-T? An engine/transmission/accessories with at least 100K (200 in my case), and a turbo that can put out over 300HP but I will only get to use 7-10 pounds of it.

Yeah, I think I like the SR idea better.

Well, with no turbo, the SR only has 2.0l of displacement whereas the KA has 2.4l. Hence the SR*20*DE and KA*24*DE...

I agree with Buudweizurr. My sr20 and transmission only has 42000 miles on it. My KA has 136000. If I had the resources and the garage I could see building the KA. But it would have to be totally rebuilt, including the transmission.

ahh yes the B13 is lighter than our cars...and FF meaning less drivetrain loss, but less traction off the line.

I would love to have an n/a sr in my 240. I personally think that the sr20de should have been the engine put in the 240. It is a much higher revving engine and just feels much stronger than my ka24e in my 89 hatch. I drove a 92 NX2000 and that car was damn quick for being stock. I would rather have a higher revving engine in a small car like the 240sx. Just my $.02

I'd like to try out an SR20DE engine in manual. My sister has a 99 G20 auto and that thing is quite sluggish in acceleration. If I control the gears, it would probably feel pretty beefy. It also gets better gas mileage, but then again its FF and 9 years younger than my 240.

I've driven a 95 200sx se-r 5 speed and although it was a good car I like my ka24e better as far as power goes. The 200sx had 82k miles on it.

last time i checked the sentra Spec-V has a SR20DE with 175 hp at the crank. while the KA24DE has 155. seeing as how the sentra is FWD, it probably has less drivetrain loss putting more power to the ground. stock for stock, the SRDE is "faster". while "better" is in the eye of the beholder;)

KA all the way though <--- big fan

Last I checked the sentra Spec V has a 2.5 liter engine that made 175 hp. 2.5>2.0 so how is that an sr20? The old sr20 powered cars were 140hp and 133lbs./ft torque. The best they got was the 2001 sentra se w/145hp and 136 lbs./ft torque. :batman

Here's some info....SpecV uses QR25DE.1999 G20 uses the 140hp SR, 2000-02 G20 uses the 145hp SR
