I have recently bought a T3/T4 hybrid turbo i have a tial 38mm external wastegate. This is my first turbo project. I have done lots of research on everything I can think of, but i have no clue about what oil lines i should get. Im not sure how much my engine can handle right now i have 131k miles with good compression. I dont have that much money and a local proformance shop said that it would cost more than $4000 to just get it running but i think hes talking about a lot of boost and all i want is a few pounds so i dont have to upgrade my ecu and fuel system yet, right? HELP ME! thank you

the stickies tell you about the oil lines, very detailed and also have pictures

if you have good compression then i dont see why you cant handle boost since u also added you only wanted low boost. but i have to warn you, everyone says that. i work at a grocery store and i swear i here this ALL THE TIME " i came in for only a few things, but i ended up buying a lot" your going to want more! haha

well you COULD run an fmu but i rather using an safc and getting bigger injectors. i used to be one of those...going for 2000$ turbo set ups but i ended up paying 3000+ but i like it a lot more because it has more potentiol and more reliable. i used to tell people it cost 2000$ to turbo but now i tell them 3000$ because a thinking cheap doesnt cut it for noobs

good luck

More than likely all you're gonna end up doing is blowing the engine and spending that money, if not more, later. I'll give you the recepie though.

With the fuel system working properly the most boost that can usually be pushed is about 5psi. You have to install a fuel pressure raiser on the return side of the fuel rail though. Then pull 3-5 degrees of base timing out of the motor. If these things are not done properly it will most definetly blow and will joint the list of newbies who are trying to turbocharge when your broke.

Good Luck

yes for the feed line...but now you need a DRAIN line so the turbo can let out the oil back to your oil pan

There is an adapter that is bolted to the bottom of the turbo, this is where your oil return bung will screw into. Usually a 5/8 push on hose adapter, found at any ACE, Lowes or Home Depot. Then you'll need some oil resistant hose in the same size to route back down to the return port you have to get welded onto your oil pan. Or you can drill a hole and screw in another 5/8 bung and JB weld around the fitting to insure it won't fall out or leak.

Hope this helps

for the bung on the oil pan would i have to weld and place it so that gravity is pulling the used oil down into the pan or is there some sort of pump i need? And what about the feed lines where do they come from the oil pan also? and do i need a pump for that of just gravity and the turbo pulling the oil in? thanks for the help

oil feed line is run from the oil pressure sender unit which is near the oil filter on the engine. the oil return line which hooks to underneath the turbo uses gravity to get the oil back to the oil pan. no pump is needed for either oil return line or oil feed line.
