help with transmission pls????

ok i changed my clutch and got itall back to geather and now when i go to put my transmission in it dont go all the way in theres like a inch gap all the way around i spent a full day trying to get it in and it wont go am i doing something wrong or is there a easy way and could it be that the pilot bearing that its hitting or what because its past the the fingers on the clutch o yea its a sr20 excedy clutch and sr20det motor

did you align the clutch plate properly, and did you test fit the clutch plate onto the input shaft befor putting it on?

yes-- for test fit anf yes -for alligment i used the little plastic allinment tool and its alligend

i think its my pilot bearing not far enough back

Pull the trans back and look in the splines of the clutch and use the supplied tool again. If you stil think its a manufacturing issue take a small measuring tape and measure the depth of the splines TO the pilot bearing. Then just measure your trans input shaft to see if everything jives or not. This is also part of the reason I do not wipe off an input shaft as it allows you to see where the old one sat to make dead sure everything is right.
