I'm somewhat mechanically inclined and thought that I would save myself some bucks and attempt to change my starter and fuel injectors, which I had diagnosed and found to be faulty. I wanted to ask for my 1989 240sx SE, is it really hard to install fuel injectors, if so when I decide to replace them does anyone have any comments of things that I should be on the look out for or should I just have it done at the shop. I've replaced a starter once on my VW but was wondering if replacing a starter on my 240 any more complicated than the VW. Also, I plan to replace my altenator in about a month and was wondering if I could get some tips on replacing, thanks in advance . Does anyone know of a good manual that I could purchase

Cakewalk. Injectors unscrew from the fuel rail, just unplug the harnass and unscrew, youre done there. Alternator is easy to unbolt, and theres 1 plug and 1grnd post to disconnect wires from. Starter isnt hard, getting your hands where it is can be tricky. 2 bolts, the harnass and youre done with it. Shouldnt take more than 2 hours for all of this, and thats with a few smoke breaks. Goodluck.

The fuel rail has two bolts holding it in place. Once you have it unbolted, just pull it out and then pull the injectors out of it. It can't be more than a 2 on a 1-10.

The starter and alternator are both simple as well, but can really try your patience if you aren't very familiar with the locations of their bolts and connectors. The alternator has two wires bolted on the rear and one connector on the side of the rear. The starter has one wire bolted to the solenoid and one wire coming out with it's connector about six inches out from the solenoid. The solenoid is on the front of the starter. The bolts are on the rear.

if they're a bit too vague still... you can venture to an online free chilton type service manual. for example, you have to release fuel pressure via removing gas cap/ fuel pump fuse/ cranking engine...

(i've just double checked it for u to make sure it's there)

where? at http://www.autozone.com free repair guide section.

waitaminute: online free FSM for the win, duh!
