Looks great! Not a huge fan of the orange, but I think it works really well.

i appreciate that! i'll be happy to help in any way i can. Butler Tire/Austell 770.941.7422, or cell 914.837.2020, ask for GJ

Not a fan of the color etc, but the thing that really hits me is that to pull off 22's on a Q at all... you need to be lower with more camber and some form of aero... if you were going for the flush look smaller/higher offsets would have been a lot better in my opinion

As for a lot of the comments... these cars are ~3900lb... heavy wheels aren't going to be a huge deal so roll what you want in my opinion (coming from a guy with CE28N's on his S13 that weigh under 14.8lbs for 17x9F and a bit more for the 9.5's in the rear). That is of course unless you are making the car into a sports sedan... I'm all for lighter wheels, but I don't think heavier wheels are a huge deal on this car especially the F50's (they are huge!)

As for Lewis... sounds like you need a spacer if you must keep the wheel... if you have room between the fender and the outer edge of the tire/wheel that is... go to a reputable wheel shop in your area to see if you can get an "expert opinion" on how much you'll need and if you'll need to roll/pull the fender (I'd imagine there's a parcial hem on an F50 so probably not much you can do for a roll... but it's worth asking)

As for that "VIP Wheel page" they just look like another knockoff or carbon copy HRE/360 Forged company to me...

Side note:Is that a ASMA Shark I kit on that CSL? Not a fan of the look... but hella rare (which makes it cool in it's own way)! Thing needs wheels BIG TIME

Modified by rbsileighty at 7:27 PM 8/8/2008
you hit it right on the head with the CLS body kit. that is a car i customized for AKON (singer). the car is hideous!!! i hate that i had to cannibalize that car with that kit. it's rare, but it just isn't attractive in my eyes. he paid me, so i did it.... & btw, it was on factory rollers for wheel repair in that pic. it was riding on 21" color matched Lowenhart LD5s, now its on 22" Asantis

Shame people are more concerned with color and lip than proper alignment, strength, weight, what the owner's manual specifies as minimum, and never read the tire's sidewall.
Heavens 2 Mergatroid!!! (classic Snagglepuss inflection) i guess no fat chicks for me!!! C'mon Max...i read tire sidewalls ALLDAY EVERYDAY. but you have a valid point in one respect, most CUSTOMIZERS are willing to risk a few of the manufacturers recomendations to achieve desired effect., myself included. imagine that...actually modifying a car to NOT look the way it did when you bought it.... doesn't sound so novel when i say it like that huh?

If you read sidewalls all day and dont follow minimum load standards, you either dont undersrtand what you are reading, or are stupid,as one customers deadly accident will leave you open to litigation and put you out of business due to your incompetence.

thanks bro. the orange is actually temporary. i'm a U of TN fan so i'll keep them orange through football season, but then.....(drumroll plz)......im overhauling the whole car. new all black suede interior, 2-tone flat black/gloss black paint w/a secret color on wheel rivets/thin pinstriping/brake calipers/seat stitching. the final result will look something like this....

He has a point... this doesn't mean you can't run the wheels, but you should just look into some tires in the same size that meet the loading (or more if possible since your car probably weighs more than stock). Your business is worth more than a set of tires!

I think the original statement was trying to help... he just kind of came across like a jerk... and again I think they both mean well

As for that ASMA kit... totally agree with you it's ugly and rare! Glad to hear it's balanced out with the wheels too...

Car's going to look pretty cool with the flat black... looking forward to the pics!

Edit:I think I know why you went with that tire... almost nothing in that size from any company! I searched... ended up back with Toyo with the T1R's and your OD's will only go up a bit from 27.8 to 28.4 but your max load goes up to 1521 Stretch goes away too... but that's dead on for a 22x9 so it won't be stuffed... nothing a eastwood roller and maybe a bit of camber cant fix (disclaimer: b/c this is for style, which is a personal taste thing, and not performance no need to call me names/label me for the recommened aid in fitment )

thanks for the input Genius. however, since I talk to the Toyo rep weekly i know what the tires load rating is really tested to withstand and not what they put on the tire to pass regulations. in other words, i'm WELL WITHIN what the tire has been shown to withstand. thanks again. also Smart Guy, this is MY CAR not a customers, so this 30+ year old establishment probably isn't in any danger of litigation... thanks once more for your truly heartfelt concern. btw, did you do the research on the other 235/30-22's that are load rated?

Dang my dude...aren't you worried about the back wheels if/when you have passengers? You're going to tear up your fenders like a mofo! You should've went with a higher offset and narrower wheel so your wheels rolled tucked. The style of the wheels are very nice though.

So you think a "rep" knows more than the engineers and lawyers? Might ask him how the tire tests after 10K miles.

Toyos are third tier tires for independent shops anyway. Good luck!

Sounds like you definately effed up and got the incorrect wheel width, offset and tire size on your 22's. The F50 will easily fit 22's that are appropriately sized.

22" wheels will make your Q look like a 4x4 unless you lower it so the wheels roll tucked. Coilover, Air/Hydro and mated to a set of 22's with like a 45mm-43mm off at 8-8.5" width would do it...

i know EXACTLY what to ask for! i have it!!!

i don't think the best look for this car is a high offset (+35 or higher). depending on the look you are going for, i like my wheels to extend all the way to the fender lip without sticking out. when i built my wheels i found that an offset of around +15 (similar to Magnum, Charger, 330C setup) filled the space very well. more than that, and depending on tire size, you risk rubbing. (note...i rolled my rear fenders) as far as wheel widths, it depends on whether you want to go staggered (preferred in my estimate, though no tire rotations without dismounting/flipping tires) or not. if not, a 22x8.5 or 22x9.0 will work all the way around. i don't think you can effectively go larger than a 255/30-22 tire in that setup. if staggering, 22x8.5 and 22x10 is optimal. if you want to be aggressive (as i did) you can push it with a 22x9 and 22x10.5. tires on my setup are 235/30-22 front, and 265/30-22 rear. the tires are slightly stretched so as to stay clear from rubbing since i do have the car lowered. you could also go 245/30-22 on front for slightly more rubber, just beware of the strut tower as you will barely clear it.

anything else i can help with, just ask. i think these cars look great with a wheel that is proportional to the size of the car. check out Dirty Larry's car as well...sick!

and fyi, you don't have to go with those "teenage" or "not legal to drink" sized wheels to lower the car and achieve a sick stance!

your q is clean so did you rims fit right on with out any modifying or what.and do you know if 255/35/22 tires would fit or somthing a little bigger than a 30 series would fit right on or 235/30/22 was the only way to go let me know....but i think the car looks good....

let me know if you think 245/35/22 would fit on or do i have to go with the 245/30/22 series because i think the rim might crack if i hit a pot hole with the 245/30/22 what do you think....will the 35 fit...

The F50 can look dope on a set of clean 22's...but you gotta get the right width and offset combo so that you don't experience tire rubbing when the suspension compresses and when you turn.
