First thing I saw actually, was the crappy silicone job on the front cover. It's especially bad if it was done that poorly with the engine out of the car.

I believe it was meant as a joke guys.

Bruinbear knows his stuff. Engine was meant to be functional, not pretty. I'm sure he'll clean it up before it goes back in the car. Last I talked w/ him, it's meant to be a road racing engine, but still spool fast enough for autox.

Are you really going w/ that turbo on the engine? What are the specs on the turbo & manifold? Don't be one of those guys who just posts a pic and expects everyone to know what's going on, haha.

p.s. looks like the compressor outlet is clocked the wrong way

* o yea, it's probably not spooling bcs there's no wastegate.

Haha, relax guys, its a joke. Everyone in this forum is always serious... I'd just thought I'd show'd you guys a large turbo on the motor since not everyone gets to see that setup.

Manifold is a peak boost manifold, although it does seem like it positions the turbo a little higher than most manifolds I've worked with. Maybe it's the turbo, I don't know. I'll find out for sure when I put the actual turbo that I'm going to use on there... it's not going to be that large size, but it will be at the minimal a T3. Turbo in the picture is a GT35R series turbo.

Now getting the engine to put down 200rwhp before 3k RPM and have the torque not drop like a roller coaster past 5k is gonna be a little challenging...

is there a purpose to all those oval "holes" in the turbo inlet circling the the hole?

i think it has something to do with the compressor surge at high boost. At first I thought it was just to make it look cool lol

It looks cool, but the main purpose is for anti-surge. If you look at the compressor map, it basically moves the surge line to the left slightly.

Think you could post a picture of the backside of the manifold and one from the top? Also could you take a measurement from the head to the center of the inlet flange? I'm making a manifold similar to this and I'm trying to get as close as possible to this manifold. Thanks

to build boost you have to have motor in car and running not sitting on a stand looking at it turning it over with a ratchet...making the noise..lmfao...

Big turbo's are fun at times...I had a big T4 on my Skyline and the 240...When boost hits it pulls your friggin teeth out. My power curve on the Skyline went from like 150 to over 400 in a very short amount of time. Wreaks havoc on traction...lol. Especially on the coral streets of Okinawa.

^haha, i bet that big turbo with the rainy Okinawa weather was pretty fun eh?

My t3/t4 is looking pretty tiny compared to some of these turbos lol...big turbos on the freeway are crazy fun-all LAG is virtually nonexistent

Just curious, how much boost are you running turbo2nr?

I have a gt35r and a peakboost manifold and it spools up pretty quick. Starts producing boost at a little under 2500 rpm and reaches 12psi at a little past 3200 rpm.Because the ka has torque, the car doesn't feel like there is a lot of lag. It kind of feels like a beefy sr.

You should be pretty happy with that setup as i am, and i can garantee you that it will build boost way before 6k if it's on a ka24de!
