Double check you're doing the ecu scanning correctly. cause last time i checked mine i did mode 3?
key on engine off, turn screw to right wait for LED to blink. they should blink together the number of times for the mode u want. when it blinks what u want THEN turn it back to the left.
once in mode 3 it will blink the left (red on mine) for the first digit and then the right (green on mine) for the second digit.
make sure thats how ur doing it... i forget what all the modes do but i was 90% sure that mode3 is the self diag.

What a mess, but here goes me and my $.02. I heard you say your compression is good all around, so what was the readings? Knowing your true compression readings is the only way that I can rule out your physical cam timing. Next, you have a major leak around your intake manifold which could very well be a faulty injector to boss grommet/insulator. Or it could be a faulty AIV or it could an intercooler or piping leak that you just can find. That running rich is not healthy for the engine and I don't recommend driving around while it's throwing black smoke all over the place.
well the compression came out at 150psi and above on all 4. min compression i think should be about 142 if i'm not mistaken.
i took out the injectors to clean and replace all are good,, they were then put back on properly,
i get the car to start but soon as its revved thats it the thing goes. ( no smoke now )
i'm gonna try getting new grommets and put them on cause these were'nt a tight fit, you reckon this cutting off of the engine and not restarting could be a cause of the grommets? they'd be for keeping the injectors secured right?
Can you believe it!
Replaced the grommets for the injectors which were tight but loose enough to let air through which obviously could'nt be seen and Viola!!
Goes like a train, no misfires what so ever no smoke

This is starting to sound like a bad ECU to be honest. But you really need to pull the codes first. As Papa Smurf said, you turn it for a half second, and then turn it back. Then count the long and short flashes to get the codes.
