Help! Please Identify my lightweight SR Flywheel!

[E7-S14]

It came out of a friends SR that he blew up.i was told it was an ACT lightweight flywheel.but doesn't look anything like an act flywheelhe said it might be an older design.

either way.the thing weighs just 10lbs

so its an aftermarket lightweight flywheelbut i don't think its ACT

anyone know what it is?

whatever it is, it needs to be resurfaced..that disk has seen some hard driving by the wear.

and its and older design, most flywheels have a removable contact disk that you replace. looks like it may even be missing it, i just don't see any bolt hold for it

paid 50 bucks for ithacompared to other 10lb flywheels..im pretty happy..so it needs to be resurfaced?

he said it didn't need to be resurfaced that much..said a bit of sandpaper would work..

idk..so a resurface is in order (the surface overall looks smooth) but i dont really know flywheels and how to tell if theres wear..

and from the car it came out of. im sure it has seen some hard drivingbut its been in the car for maybe half a year or less.he finally blew the motor after having putting it in earlier this year..

I can tell just by the color that it needs to be resurfaced.

The browning is a sign that the friction material of the clutch was over heated, and burnt onto the flywheel. It is likely there is a glaze on the surface that require milling to remove.

As long as there is no blueing of the metal you should be fine. Blueing is the sign that the flywheel itself was overheated, this usually requires replacement.

thats what i was thinking.but i wasn't sure..

the guy i bought it from didn't put it in there.. but knew it was aftermarket.

it looks similar to a lightweight JUN flywheel since thy look most like stock.either way. im throwing it in there when i do my clutch swap sometime early next year.
