I do own some Rockford items but really have not use them, they are good but not the end of all end I believe. In my old car I had all Orion equipment. Orion H2 getting pushed by 1200D mono block.
What you said is both right and wrong... when Rf first came out, they made rediculous equipment, period. It was only good better and best.. remember the Rockford punch 40 and punch 75 amps? That's the original stuff that kicked ***!
Then, as time went on, they began to expand their equipment for more everyday systems, for folks that didn't want to shell out big dough, and didn't want crazy bass.
Then they went through a few years where they were all over the place with R&D and put out some ok stuff.
they then got back on track when they came out with the punch HE2, punch HX2, and power HX2 subs!
Now , with their current lineup, the T1 and T2 subs are monsters, period. there aren't many subs out there that could topple a 12" T2.. i had 2 x 12" T1 subs with a Power T10001-bd amp, the amp put out about 1100 watts RMS and I guranteee that system of mine would destroy 99% of the systems I've seen on this forum.
When it comes to car audio, I try not to skimp on anything, so when I buy RF products, I stick with the POWER series AMPS and SUBS..
My guess is, if you have RF in your car, and you don't like it, its because you are either
1. Running punch woofers (P1, P2, or P3), not power woofers (T1 or T2)2. Running punch amps, not power amps3. Running the woofers in an incorrect box
If any of the above apply to your situation, then yes, I would agree with you, because their lower end products are just OK, nothing to brag about
But there is absolutely NO WAY you are running RF POWER series equipment in a properly tuned box and not satisfied... its just not possible!
