Absolutely not, there's not a dealer in existence that would be able to get that Alpine to you for $425 out the door brand new. And my shop might do it for me, but they would know instantly that it wasn't for me because I would never put any amp or subwoofer in my vehicle other than Rockford Fosgate! Sorry, I can't help you out on the price, my discounts are only good for me and stuff I put in my car...

I ask this because here in los angeles, you might know about this place rjdmmfl1, on 11th and central, in downtown, it is very known to give you crazy deals on audio equipment, a lot of people say to go there i mean everybody knows about this place here in L.A I know a guy who brings them al lot of bussines, and tells me he cant get me good deals, i havent been able to get in touch with him, but i thought maybe there were other places you knew like this, dont get me wrong i dont mind paying the 425, just thought that i could get it for 400 in a shop or warehouse and not pay the shipping cost.

I would never have imaged that you were such a fan of Rockford Fosgate. I believe that there newer stuff has not been up to par with previous items. I do own some Rockford items but really have not use them, they are good but not the end of all end I believe. In my old car I had all Orion equipment. Orion H2 getting pushed by 1200D mono block.

What you said is both right and wrong... when Rf first came out, they made rediculous equipment, period. It was only good better and best.. remember the Rockford punch 40 and punch 75 amps? That's the original stuff that kicked ***!

Then, as time went on, they began to expand their equipment for more everyday systems, for folks that didn't want to shell out big dough, and didn't want crazy bass.

Then they went through a few years where they were all over the place with R&D and put out some ok stuff.

they then got back on track when they came out with the punch HE2, punch HX2, and power HX2 subs!

Now , with their current lineup, the T1 and T2 subs are monsters, period. there aren't many subs out there that could topple a 12" T2.. i had 2 x 12" T1 subs with a Power T10001-bd amp, the amp put out about 1100 watts RMS and I guranteee that system of mine would destroy 99% of the systems I've seen on this forum.

When it comes to car audio, I try not to skimp on anything, so when I buy RF products, I stick with the POWER series AMPS and SUBS..

My guess is, if you have RF in your car, and you don't like it, its because you are either

1. Running punch woofers (P1, P2, or P3), not power woofers (T1 or T2)2. Running punch amps, not power amps3. Running the woofers in an incorrect box

If any of the above apply to your situation, then yes, I would agree with you, because their lower end products are just OK, nothing to brag about

But there is absolutely NO WAY you are running RF POWER series equipment in a properly tuned box and not satisfied... its just not possible!

Yeah, I'm kind of surprised on the whole Rockford thing too!?! But you said it pretty good rjdmmfl1. There is a reason we dumped the line several years ago. Rockford just lost touch with a quality product. Back when Mark Fukuda was the SPL record holder hitting 140's with all Rockford gear..... the stuff was awesome! Early 90's was a great time in car audio history.... now it's just gone downhill. People that didn't experience it back then, like most people on this site, have no idea what car audio use to represent.
frswhtcoupe wrote:Broadfield, do you honestly think that the 500/1 is enough for the 12w7...i've been reading many many things on it and it seems that 1000/1 will push this sub to its max but is that really necessary? on the other hand the 500/1 is said to be enough I mean what im looking for is sq and good spl , not to the point were i cant turn up the volume past let say 20 or something
I actually think somewhere in between. However, I feel the more power the merrier! I also do not like single W7 setups. For some reason adding that 2nd sub seems to make all the difference in the world. For SQ though one sub would suffice.

If some place sells you a brand new non-refurbished 1.1000 for $400 then they are just giving it to you without making a cent. Doesn't make paying the bills very easy. If you find a place let me know, I'll start buying from them!

I understand completely! Especially regarding not carrying RF products anymore. Personally, I wouldn't use or advise anything except their POWER series equipment, and you know how much those run. Its hard to convince folks to buy high end equipment sometimes. As I mentioned, I do know RF underrates their woofers and subs, wasn't sure about JL so I deferred to you on that.

Oh yeah, my brand loyalty with RF stops at POWER series woofers and AMPS, I refer folks to Infiniti Kappas for good internal speakers, and Pioneer or kenwood for good NAV/DVD player options for headunits!

and I'm assuming you meant smaller than the SEDAN trunk... lol...

yes, there's no comparison between the two. The A/C trunk looks like the G35 Coupe's trunk... EXTREMELY small! The A/S trunk is huge (I have an 07 Sedan and an 08 coupe)

Yeah, the P3 is equivalent to the old HE2 woofers... the P3's are cool. I had three P3's in an old setup a while back. then I switched to two HX2's, then finally to the two 12" T1's .. here's some pics of my old car...

naww, not really, a 2008 Altima Coupe 3.5 is way more reliable than a 1995 Nissan 200SX

Exactly, I did all of the cosmetic and interior things I wanted to do with that car including...

Japanese Sunny crystal clear headlights, Infiniti Grill, clear corners, extreme dimensions body kit, new paint job, 18" chrome Motegi MR7's, AGX- adjustable shocks/struts, Eibach Pro kit lowering springs, Yellow top deep cycle Optima battery, Injen Intake, hotshot header, Stroming Cat-back exhaust, underbody LED lights, Strobe light kit in headlights, remote start alarm, Reupholstered leather interior, cistom headliner, custom floor carpet, Pioeeer AVH-p7500DVD in dash dvd player, Pioneer AVIC-9DVD navigation system, 12" flip down monitor, 7" headrest monitors, 2 x 12" T1 subwoofers in Custom fiberglass ported box, 1x t10001bd POWER Rockford Amplifier, 900watt RF 4 channel Amp for higher all on a custom floating AMP rack, rockford fosgate 6.5" in front and rear, 2 sets of RF tweeters, carbon fiber dash kit, reverse el-glo dash lights, GT factory vertical door kit, 35% tint all around...

I think that's it, the only thing left to start doing was an engine swap from a 1.6L to the SR20DET-GTir... but then my wife got pregnant and I was like okay, time to sell the cracker jack toy and get a real car!

Nope, those were strictly for show... I was that guy driving around with 4 Tv's in his car, three of which were purely for the guys driving around me...BALLIN'... hey what can I cay, it was my toy! Wait, now I have 4 Tv's in the car, but at least I can watch two of them...lol... I'm an A/V fanatic!
