Car: trying to decide on one...

Post

Okay, my car was running fine. I pulled the engine to change the front cover and re-do the gasket.

I put everything back together and when I start my car, it idles up real high, then falls down and cuts out. I can't get it idle steadily. When I rev it up it hesitates a little and when I try to hold it at a higher rpm level it pulses.

I did take out the CAS to get to one of the sub-bolts holding on the front cover, I tried to put it straight back in, but I'm not 100% positive if I put it back right. I would think it might be off a tooth, but it starts and runs ok for a second, I would think that it would run like absolute crap if it was off a tooth.

I'll post a video in a minute.

Please HELP, I really need to have left about 2 hours ago.

lol did you fix it yet bro? Check your timing for sure dude. Get a timing gun that will tell you without having to pull the CAS and check the chain. Did you remove the chain at all? What gasket - head gasket or the front cover LG?

it was the timing, CAS off by one tooth. thanks anyways.

At least maybe someone will find this thread when having the same problem.

It's really hard to pull the CAS out and put it back in without getting it off.
