Glad you got it figured out.
For future reference we had a similar problems with one of my wife's Miata's and it ended up being in the softline. It had a tear on the inside of it that was acting like a check valve and wouldn't allow the fluid to make it down to the clutch slave. Replaced the rubber line with a braided SS one and it was all good.
I have a 1990 Mazda Miata that recently had the clutch wear out. I have since replaced the Clutch Disc, Pressure Plate, Throw Out Bearing, & Pilot Bearing (1 year ago I replaced the Clutch Slave Cylinder). After getting the transmission back together, I also replaced the Clutch Master Cylinder. Bled the Clutch line (with the help of a 2nd person) 3 days in a row. I spent several hours adjusting the rod that goes to the clutch pedal. The Slave Cylinder's piston becomes very hard when the clutch pedal is all the way down (I am sure there is no more air in the Clutch line).
The Clutch Disc does not completely disengage from the flywheel (Will Not go into gear while the engine is running & the car moves when starting in gear with the clutch pedal down).
