I just bought this car after I wrecked my Acura CL-Type S...

This car needs some bolt on power and a little help in the audio department as well.

Do you guys know of anyone who makes an exhaust system for these?

A cold air intake?

A chip?

An MP3 adapter for the stock stereo?

Any ater market products would be helpful...

Thanks

i was in your same boat a month ago when i bought my M

I did my ipod mod myself look at:forums.nicoclub.com/zerothread/230835

It was pretty easy.

I'm surprised your need more power, i have a lead foot, and this car is still fsat enough to satisfy my needs.

Cars are never fast enough. Sad thing is that these is no performance parts for it, period. you can make custom exhaust for it yourself and if it works sell it to me i will buy it.it is a wrong car for mods. sorry.

Damn IT!

How about changing just a couple of the mufflers?

Has anyone done that?

This car has 4 mufflers...

Yeah but those exhaust dont fit right out of the box. Exhaust work is usually custom anyway, sure have them do a dual exhaust to the rear muffler, get rid of the middle resonators, and pick a nice muffler with some nice shiny tips and you should be good

Check out STILLEN. I've added a INJEN cold air intake and STILLEN cat back exhaust to my M45 Sport and yes there is a a big difference in performance and sound.

....especially after coming out of an acura cl :/??? I had an acura Legend Coupe before my M and once I stepped into this M I was content. The car is fast enough for a luxury sedan in my opinion.

Its almost like a previous geo metro owner stepping into a F360 Spyder Ferrari and saying, "I need more power" I don't understand and don't really wanna try to. Be cool and enjoy the car for what it is. 340HP V8 with 333lbs torque is plenty.

I have an idea! I think one should master all voice commands in the M before asking for power mods and bolt ons. lol

Lets start with: audio on & audio off lol

- You obviously have not driven a CL-Type S with some mods...

Don't get me wrong this car has it good points after it hits 80 MPH before then no way can it keep up or is it anything I would even try to take a corner with...

I'm like Tim the tool man Taylor - Everything I buy I pump up

I know my cars and know what I want and like it to feel like...

This still needs about 30HP's and a stifer suspension...

And the Bose system beefed up than it will be up to par or should I say my standards...

Didn't they stop making these Acura's in the 1800's?

You can NOT compare that car to the newer Acura's nor is your comparison between a metro and a 360 hold any water...

Just a guys looking to make his car better\faster...

If you got the cash to spend you can make this car a screamer, but it's going to be custom.

You should have done your research and bought a car that has after market performance parts. There weren;t that many sold (like 7000) to warrent any companies to invest in aftermarket performance parts. Be proud you have a nice rare car. Acuras are a dime a dozen.

lol LOL 1995 was the last year for the ack coupe and yes, I've driven the cl-s and it was impressive, but this M will blast that CL-s in a race. I seriously considerd the CL-S before getting rid of my Legend Coupe, but I wanted a stronger engine with torque and a more unique look.

Unfortunately, there aren't too many mods for this car unless you go custom. I was lucky for find eibachs for the car, but since then they've become impossible to locate. As for beefing up the bose........... keep us up on what you find. I salute you on reaching for more horses.

oh, that geo metro / Ferrari statement was a hypothetical example not a comparrision

CL-S seems to get a better jump but Ms would takeover in the 1/4. This seems like it would be a good race to watch

Cool site thanks,

But mine had mods and could do the 1/4 in 14 second flat...

Now if I could ONLY find some mods for my M45 to get it to do 14sec flat as well I will be happy...

The K&N filter woke it up a little

Maybe I just need a turbo or NOS

Thanks everyone for your input and will let you know as I find and add mods even if I have to have them custom made...

Sure a 50 shot would probably get you pretty darn close to what your looking for but also you could open up the exhaust by getting rid of the center resonators and maybe a bit larger piping. Good luck with the K&N, you are one of the very very very few on this forum that uses one. They have been proven to not be very effective and are generally considered to be more hurtful than helpful.cheers

Yup!

Wait till you have to clean and/or replace a MAF coated with oil ...

Any way to start a post for GBs on custom parts? I would be willing to do some pullies if we have enough buyers. Maybe even an exhaust/ intake project. I will dyno prove gains, and get some Ok prices. I actually did custom parts for the Legend....pullies, and a turbo. For the 2nd gen. Funny you guys mention that.....and I may do a lightened flywheel GB over there next. Any way we can get this started?

Hi!

I didn't have a problem with K&N filters in any of my cars. My previous 1994 J30 clocked 162K miles without a single issue from MAF or any air intake componentry. And the improvement was noticed.

Do you have any before an after numbers? VK45DE is pretty free flowing before and after the engine. Feeeelings and sounds don't verify real world performance gains, or losses.

But not documented, I bet. Gradual decline in performance is not usually noted by non-verifying owner who spent the money.

Underdrive pulleys just lead to earlier battery and alternator failures.

You'll have to try harder...$$$$....Like Impul 5.1L build.

really the legend. I was an active member of acura-legend.com for a long time. Those guys were yearning for turbo and stuff. Where you on A-L.com?

I've never really been one for performance mods. I'm more interested in looking good than going fast. On the Ack Coupe I had ground controls coilovers/koni struts, Giovanna rims and a weapon R intake and that was it for me, but I respect the performnace minded individuals.

Wow! Crazy....

That must have been a pretty nice ride!

I have 2 Legends still. One Auto and one 5spd-both sdns. I am on A-L.com and have become one of the guys trying to take the fastest legend title. I am sr79labrat...the huge turbo thread in the G2 area is about my car.

The Auto is a midnight blue with a body kit, 17 wheels, turbo w/fmic, drilled and slotted rotors, new leather, custom gauges, and tons of other crap....no suspension yet, but it sure needs it! The car with 5.8psi has put down a best of 257 whp/ and 262 wftlbs. With that set up it ran low 16s @ 91 or so...it couldnt spool for crap! I have since fixed some kinks in the system and downs sized the turbo. I local shop screwed it up bad...I am going through it for the 3rd time to try to get it right! The car looks tight from 20feet away, but is rough up close. I can send you some pics...email add?

The other car has my custom pullies(non-Overdrive) and a strut bar....it needs help and a transmission! It is kinda the test car. I will probably do a lightened flywheel next...GB of corse. It is supposed to get a short shifter as well.

I think people who like legend probably are drawn to the M45...kinda weird, but I guess we got good taste! haha

Later, Kyle

Hey maxnix,

Sorry no numbers before or after. But I can tell you with the VDC on the "slip" light flickers and the rear end shifts a little when you punch it. My ramp speed on to 15 is also up from 90 to just over 100. Oh yes, and even my wife can tell a difference. Sorry, not to scientific but it only took one trip to Vegas to see a marked improvement.socal

I really would like to start off doing things that everyone can afford as well as me. Things that would not hinder driveability either, and possibly improve mileage. Like lightweight pullies(non-underdrive), intakes or improved ram air, and exhaust and headers. After that I may....and dare I say- may...attempt to use this spare turbo I have. I have a stand alone for my legend but V8 and RWD is OHHHH so tempting! I need more stance also....who knows maybe wider wheels???

Lata, Kyle

P.S. Did you get to check out that thread?
