You should at least retrieve the codes.

I will take both comments into consideration:

1) 911/Q45------ I will see if I can make it there.

2) DAEDALUS ---- I'll definetadly retrieve the codes, sounds quite smart. If I retrieve them codes, AT LEAST I will have a better idea on what to expect whether I decide to take it to a shop or not... Or maybe even, I could fix it myself, perhaps. So yeah, I WILL make the time and go ahead and get those codes, then that will help me make the best decision possible.

Thanks to BOTH of you guys, I really appreciate your input.

(p.s. IF ANYONE else can add its own 2cents, i'd appreciate that too, l8r)

How is the alignment? Is it a new set of tires with solid thread? If your tires are balled or worn improperly and out of alignment, I would guess an alignment and a new set of tires would remedy the shakes.

Are you sure it is not the valve cover gaskets that are leaking? I would opt to go ahead and take the Q to a reputable mechanic or even Nissan and get the oil changed. Then, mention that you smell oil burning and see if they can inspect it while the hood is up anyway. If they say a gasket is leaking, see if it they can retighten it to spec since it is vibrating so bad. If it cannot be retightened to spec, you will just need to replace the gasket involved.

As for the surging, I still suspect a fuel pump going bad or faulty injectors. You will get a code for injectors, but not for the fuel pump going bad as it is not totally bad yet. Just use deduction after you get the codes. If you still want me to scan the FSM manual regarding the codes and what they mean, I will gladly do that for you.

How you doing CherryPoppinQ45?The alignment:Well, the tires... Yeah, I'd say they could use some alignment. I noticed the fourth tire is from a different brand and the thread has a different pattern. My plans for the tires is just to get a new set of wheels (bigger rims w/matching tires), but I gotta wait on those just a bit; wanna get the other stuff taken care of first. Now, what I meant by the shaking is that... WHILE I am stopped at a light (Foot on the brake and shifted to D)... during that time it is when it tends to shake like I was mentioning. Then, when I accelerate, from so to say 1-to-35mph, that the car kind of hesitates and tends to do a scrappy-puffy motion/noise.

About the valve cover gaskets being the ones that leak, i am not totally sure. I just haven't had the time to really inspect it with more detail, but i will get on that A.S.A.P. The oil change sounds quite reasonable, I can do that, this weekend that should be taken care of. I hope the idea about bringing up the burnt oil will work, thanks. I hope it can be done by retightening it to spec like you mentioned, maybe that WILL take care of the vibration.

You're still thinking the pump going bad or injectos? Well, since like you said I wont get a code for the pump, how much do you think that will cost? I already checked the price on the injectors but not the pump. I am totally convinced about retreiving the codes, I just gotta find some TIME.

Here's something else that I tought about, that I haven't mention. I got the check engine light about 10 minutes after grounding the gas pedal on the freeway. I don't know if that could be a clue to find the problem.

IF you could still scan that FSM manual, I'd so thank you for that. So if you don't mind, PLEASE.

Thanks a lot, until then.

Very doubtful any fastener has backed off. The head is aluminum, so the last thing you want to do is strip it by over torqueing. Best have the gaskets on hand as tehy can be returned if still packaged.

Sounds quite smart and logical.I rather spend on some gaskets than messing up the head. Thanks a lot maxnix. I appreciate it.

An ADDTIONAL thing to add: This morning while @ the parking lot before coming into work, I noticed that the power steering reseivor's hose is soaked with flud. The sun was kind of shining on my eyes, but I tought the smoke came from there.Could that mean anything to the performance loss/problems I've been encountering? What you guys think?

Probably nothing for the performance, but it could mean a new rack if not addressed post haste.

I would get to Jerry Tucker's quick, and take a wad of cash with me. Sounds like there is a lot of deferred maintenance on your car. Multiple problems can really confound a diagnosis.
