I cannot find the connector, referred to in several write-ups, in my 2006 M35xm which one jumps to ground a few times to move the TPMS system into learning mode.

Can someone help me locate the connector, or is there an easier way, or even a cheap tool for doing this?

I installed my winter sneakers on new rims from Tire Rack, with Schrader TPMs, and I get no warning light, nor do I get any readings. The wheels/tires are fine and I know I can live with no readout, but since I paid a nice chunk of change for the TPMs I'd like to get them working. Nearest Infiniti dealer is 60 miles away, and I am leery of the local Nissan monopoly.

TPMS has a learning mode? I thought they always just re-assigned after driving over 30mph for over 30 minutes.

According to Alldata you must use the Nissan consult II tool to register new TPMS sensors. There are actually two tools the SST activation tool and the consult II tool. Unfortunately a trip to the dealer is required...

That may be the case and I will certainly give it a try if I can find a road where I can do that!

I was gonna try and do the same this weekend... I'll let you know if I am able to find the connector on my 08.

I actually JUST changed my TPMS 2 days ago. I bought an aftermarket from Advanced Auto Parts (about $57 w/tax). It installs right out the box. When I left the light was still on, but about a half hour later. it went off and everything was and still is reading just fine. It didn't need any type of programming.

It sounds like you just changed one. In that case I think the car, recognizing the 3 unchanged ones, will know to connect the new one in the right place.

Having changed all 4, the car has no way of knowing which sensor is at which wheel. That's why putting it in learning mode, with select, different, pressures in specifically recommended locations, is supposed to work: LF = 34, RF =31, RR = 29, LR - 26.

I now have the warning light on the dash, which I think means that the car knows the old sensors are gone and not which new one is where.

I look forward to whatever you find out, jiggersplat.

Thanks for the link. I basically have all that but have not located the notorious connector. I will look harder, though.

Sorry that you're having to go thru all of this...that's frustrating.

From personal experience, I've always had my wheels/tires/TPMS handled by my long time wheel/tire shop and they've always used their TPMS reset/scan tool...works for OE or aftermarket TPMS sensors. I've watched my tire guy perform the reset and it takes less than 10 mins total. it worked on my CLK, E class, Lexus and M35 when I swapped wheels and had either OE and aftermarket sensors. Here's the link. Maybe you can find a used one on eBay or Craigslist. Good luck.

The connector is right where it's supposed to be on my 08. Taped to the harness just behind the OBD-II connector. It's the one with the single white/red wire coming out of it I believe.

This is in another thread.... "I found mine 4 inches up and to the left inside the fuse box near your left knee.It is very short versus other vehicles I looked at. After you locate the white 2 pin connecter youll see it only has 1 wire in it." reset-tpms-yourself-t556986.html

I haven't had a chance to try and program yet.

Yes, I only changed one. The tire shops that I brought my car to didn't want to touch it because they didn't have the tool. They also did not trust the aftermarket part. But for $20, I told them to give it a try because that light was annoying me. I left with the light on and half hour later...it was gone (what a relief)

Well, I was not able to get it into learn mode... When I start the car, the TPMS light flashes for 60 seconds then turns on solid. Apparently this means I need to clear the TPMS codes first. The procedure I have found for that does not seem to work or I am not grounding the connector properly.
