1) I had no idea it would this hard for a simple thing like an air intake.99QX4 wrote:Welcome! But 2 things: 1. It's hard to find parts for the QX but search around on the forum and i'm sure you'll find a lot of answers, and 2. please, please change how you spelled Infiniti...it's an "i" at the end not a "y".
But again...welcome!
There are lots of upgrades for some expensive vehicles out there (Mercedes/BMW)bmlawless wrote:My experience has been that luxury cars don't get modified much.

ok you lost me with theVG, O1, VQ, R51, and WD21SnowSurfLax wrote:It's due to the short run of the platform and the quick engine change. 97 - 2000 vehicles had the VG and 01 - 04 had the VQ. Then thay made the R51 which basically killed the interest that might have developed by aftermarket suppliers. You can still find a lot of stuff for the old WD21 platforms of the pathies.
Technically, you can take an old 96 WD21 pathy and build up the motor, drivetrain, and suspension to make it a better, more powerful rig than the brand new pathies. Kind of sucks for us R50 folks.
VG = VG33 engine (3.3 V6 timing-belt driven engines in 1996-2000 Pathfinder and QX4, as well as many other nissans like earlier maxima, quest, etc)gcv wrote:

D'oh! Yeah, I get the years off a little sometimes.fueler wrote:WD21 = 1987-1995 Pathfinder

VQ = chain driven engine in 2001 - 2004 Pathfinder and QX4 (and also same engine in your 2002 Maxima)
'01 = year 2001 R51 = 2005+ Pathfinder
WD21 = 1987-1995 Pathfinder
yeah whats your problem dude just kidding. whats crazy is the R50 is actually 1995-2005 in Japan and Australia, while we got it a year late in 1996SnowSurfLax wrote:
