NEW PICS ON PAGE 2

Hello fellow Q45 owners. I just picked up my very own 1994 Q45t two days ago. I just wanted to say that I am glad to be a Q45 owner <IMG NAME="icon" SRC="http://images.nicoclub.com/forums/image ... iggrin.gif" BORDER="0"> . I've been searching around for Q45 for a long time. So far I love this car! Well I'm sure you all want to see pictures, so here they are...

When I first picked up the Q...

Second day of ownership...

Third day of ownership...

Also I would like some help trouble shooting this problem. When the car is idling it is very rough. It feels like the motor is surging or reving constantly when idling, but when driving it runs smooth. The previous owner was a member on this forum, and he said that the fuel injectors needed to be replaced. He already replaced the fuel pump, O2 sensor, maf sensor, and fpc module. So if anyone could help me, I would really appreciate it. Oh and the car has 117,xxx miles.

Welcome to NICO. It looks like you picked up a nice looking Q and depending on which member you got it from it may have had a good portion of the maintenance that starts being necessary at about 100,000 miles. Hopefully he passed on a service history and reciepts to you showing what work he did. If your serious about fixing her up you'll find those records very handy.

If you think you have bad injectors then the best way to find out is to check the resistance (aka- ohm them with a voltmeter). While you're there ohm the knock sensors also. If you don't own a voltmeter they can be bought for as cheap as $10-$15 at a WalMart or Radio Shack.

Testing the injectors and knock sensors will take less than 10 minutes. Your symptoms sound consistent with a dead injector or two. The cluster of connectors is at the base of the plenum on the passenger side. Let us know what you find.

Congratulations! My 96t is an ''island car'' as well. Presents it's own problems.Rust NEVER EVER sleeps. I applied dielectric grease to all the elec. cons. I could get to in hopes of forestalling the inevitable. The niggling gremlins are beginning to appear I fear. Mine has spent her life on the Atlantic coast but has no rust due to vigilant hosing.

Lot of difference between Photoshop and real world.

Like it is said down here, "That dog don't hunt."

Hell, it couldn't even make it out of the driveway.

Thank you all for your warm welcomes and help!

goody94q45 I will look into that. The previous owner told me that I should change the injectors. So now I'm sure that is the problem, but I will do the ohm test. He also gave me his repair log from 1994.

unknown007 that photoshop of my car looks good! At first I didn't know that was my car until I looked closer. Haha!

jltibbs I have already quickly browsed through the VIP forums. I think I will be inquiring there very soon. Thanks.

Since I had some extra time this weekend, I cleaned up the rims. They were all dirty, you can sorta tell from my earlier pictures. After I finished cleaning them, they looked almost like new so had to snap some pictures...

Forged BBS are a thing of beauty!

If you really want to learn about the G50, read all of Q45tech's posts here, in IOM and IG, and follow the links he provides.

The VIP forum is mostly about what happens to little boys in the middle of the night. Fortunately, most outgrow it.

Do you guys think these rims would match on my Q45?

And I'm not sure if they will fit. The specs are 18x7.5 +42 with 225/40zr18 88y tires.

Yea I want to go deep dish eventually. I can afford it right now, but I have to save my money for other things. I just wanted to see if the rims I already have would fit. But it sounds like it won't look good.

As for the photoshop...I really don't know what rims I want. They all look good. Maybe you could give me some suggestions.

I have a quick question about checking the ohm for my fuel injectors. Does the car have to be running when I check the ohms? Sorry its such a noob question, its just I never did ohm injectors before. But theres a first time for everything.

We have a VIP section.

No, the car does not have to be running. Also make sure NO ELECTRONICS are on. Close the doors and make sure the dome lights and radio are off.

But some are just heavy and weak boat anchors that will seriously debilitate your cars performance, assuming it's up to OEM new standards.

Depends if you want static doorstop "style" or dynamic enhanced performance.

VIP Forum sandbox is for the cartoon kiddies, this one is for owners intrested in real world performance.

Your funny sandbox for kiddies and this is for owners interested in real world performance?I agree with you a little bit but most here go OEM no performance.

VIP Q45t go on the VIP forum=>VIP rims approved (i think it's called made by me) and look around they got rims on there. For performance i doubt you can do any except muffler delete/new muffler set up,so just go with the style/performence you want.

There always be OEM people,VIP people, and performence people aguring here lol.

We all want that 5spd swap though.

You sound just like my dad, its true the older you get the grumpy you get, and anything loud annoys you, your prune juice is too cold, those damn kids on your lawn again im guessing your 16k of posts is bitching about something haha nothing personal its just you fit the "old man" profile MR. MAXNIX. By the way you sound your old enough to be my grandfather so i have respect for my elders and your input to the Q45 forum its very helpfull but seriuosly you should consider buying ALL Q45 ever made and returning them to OEM spec that way you wouldnt be so bitther on how people customize there cars on these forums.

Hey NOR*CAL 916 and unknown007 grow up!!! The guy knows something, since he has owned all the generations of Qs and had them longer than both of you guys put together. I know he sounds like your dad and you must rebell against it but his well respected and a good man so stop bsin with this dude he knows what his talking about! unknown007 there are many different things you can do to your Q45 if you get your read on with older threads you will see what kind of performance you can get out of your Q with it little 4sp auto that opens 130+ in 3rd gear. If you guys want to beaner out your car with fake body kits and spoilers and think its VIP. I don't think your in the right place here, since the Q has been a car that douche bags have stayed out of and now since they are cheap they are being burned down to sh** by people that don't maintain them and just dump them when they are done messing the car up. SO when a man with wisdom says maintain the car first maybe he knows something and doesn't want any of us ruin than dump the car.

I KNOW the guy knows what he is talking i take much respect for his input it is very usefull but my respect for him is clouded at times by his rude comments and stereotypes of people and VIP style cars. And as for you MR. gammer_ghn replying to my posts reffering to me as a ''BEANER'' is crossing the line buddy, thats a little racist in my eyes. You sound ignorant after that comment so do us all and you a favor and keep those comments to yourself. And honestly i KNOW what im talking about as well, i keep my cars clean and well maintained with modifications that have a purpose. Im with you, i dont want Q45's to be owned by people who dont respect them its a shame to see a neglected Q45

I did not call you or anyone here a "beaner" i said beanering out a car which is a part of my swagger same way you have yours, i was simply referring to the way how people put random spoilers which serve no purpose on a car that is about to fall apart. Which in this case it would have made sense since were on the discussion on how to keep the car well maintained and running like a champ with better and higher performance numbers. Do you understand me now? And if you think im a racist you must be out of your mind since my whole city is made up of more Mexicans than you see Mexicans, latinos and not to forget the Chikanoz up north lol. I don't have a problem with a race when one in a couple 1000 messes with the cars looks and purpose and most of the cars have the same kind of random spoiler here and there issue. Hope you got me buddy no mean to make anyone uncomfortable here.

Dont worry about it i am mexican and i know what you mean by "BEANERING" a car lol its just somebody else might see your comment and take offense to it. The last thing we want is people thinking Q45 owners are racist bastards haha. Were all here for the same thing and thats a community to help each other out with maintenance and performance aspect of our q45's

Well to be honest i maybe wrong.I yet havn't added rims. Most people i see with wide rims put spacers and roll the fenders or roll the fenders only.Mostly because they're bigger rims.

Give me a side view of the car and i can try make it like the angle the rims are if you can.I'll try ethier way k

Well heres an update on my Q45. Last week Friday the car was rear ended by a girl that fell asleep at the wheel . So now I'm exploring my exterior options. I might change the car's color. I might have to get a body kit, because I was quoted $1,700 for a stock rear bumper! So I'm sure a body kit will be cheaper. I am open to any suggestions on body kits. I'm looking for something very subtile, nothing flashy.

I forgot to mention, before somebody suggest it. I already considered doing the President conversion. I really like the way it looks, but it cost too much for my budget. Thats why I'm just looking into body kits for now.
