I jusy installed a kouki spoiler on my car and of course my trunk got heavier. I had already replaced my trunk suspension with s14 that had a spoiler beacuse my car is a base model. I just wanted to ask s14 owners with the kouki spoiler that does their trunk is heavy also?

Dude are you serious? Did you add the spoiler and expect it to be lighter? Your adding weight... the more weight the heavier something will be. I should do a write up on common sense.

haha yeah the se and le had a stiffer suspension than the base model that is correct. But i doubt they did that because of the added weight of the wing lol.

i think he is talking about the little strut thingy that holds the trunk up. not the whole cars suspension

^ oh the struts... Gotcha. i doubt they were different at all. My trunk isn't heavy at all. Maybe he just swapped over blown struts?

Quick search on courtesy, and it list the same part number for the "hinge" on all S14 modes. No struts back there.

there is a diffrence in the struts,ie the struts from the wingless s14 should be lighter and the ones with the wing should have stronger ones. since the kouki spoiler is oem i thought there might a stronger one. my friend with a 3rd gen accord lx got a spoiler and had to get the struts from a ex

So are you saying that the courtesy parts diagram is wrong then? And who cares about 3rd generation accords

Bottom line is, S14's use the same hinges, regardless of the model. And there is no STRUTS back there either.

The OP is referring to part #84533 and 84532. Not the hinges.

I took my SE spoiler off for a while, it turned my trunk lid into a makeshift catapult.

to answer the OPs question the SEs springs ARE stronger

just like in the S13 hatch the one with wiper and wing has stronger Struts than the base model equivilent
