heavy shift knobs

this is will be for my s14, but since many nissans (maybe all, i'm not 100% sure) share the same thread pattern on the shifters, i felt gen chat would be more appropriate.

i'm going to be in the market for a new shift knob soon, unless something else catastrophic occurs. i want a heavy knob. currently i have a nismo gt knob (rubber)



i didn't buy it. it came with my old s13 and i just kept it for the s14. over time, the rubber separated from the metal center and i can pull it off whenever i want, not cool. also, it's too small for my liking. i was going to pick up a greddy counter weighted knob



but it's been discontinued. i've looked into the ams hammer knob, but it looks like the stock knob and i don't want that. the circuit sports adjustable knob doesn't do it for me.



also, it looks to be small like the nismo i have now. do any of you have any recommendations on a heavier knob, that doesn't look stock but also doesn't look tacky?

i have a momo knob kind of like that greddy knob...it's a heavy bish but i'm gonna try and get something that is not metal because damn thing gets hot as hell in the summer and cold as balls in the winter, not that i would ever drive my kouki in the winter.

the last time i was at 240sxmotoring, jeff told me that there's this company that's releasing a new weighted shift knob, but at the time, nothing was known about, no specs or even what it looks like.

I hear VERY good reviews about the Nismo duracon knob. Whether it's heavy or not, idk, but everyone I know that has one LOVES it and will not sell me theirs if it's white.

google it. but it doesn't matter, it's discontinued so you will probably have a hard time finding one. every place i tried doesn't have any left.

custom weighted shift knob? hmmm, i could use the metal threaded part of my nismo knob and hollow something out and add weight as i deem necessary.

Find a buddy with a drill press and size it up to the threaded insert. You can turn anything into a shifter!

haha over 200 bucks for a shift knob. i'm all set with that. although it is pretty nice looking, it seems effing small. only 2.5" tall? .

looks like i'm going to have to settle for the hammer...

i made my own knob. its sweet. its the end of a hockey stick. and its pretty long too. but i need to add some weights to it. its really light and feels like it'll break sometimes. but i love it.

The Greddy counter weighted shift knob is awesome, but as some have said they are scorching in the summer with the sun on them. I never knew they were discontinued...hmmm i wonder how much it is worth then...

heres mine. great weight to it and interesting look. never seen another one sept when my boss made one after seeing mine. out of an old ka i had.

I have the Greddy Counterweight Knob on my B&M Short Shifter and to me it's the best thing. I love how small the shift knob is and how easy it is to grab, also it allows you to kind of just push it with the bottom part of your palm. Coming from me it's a great combo. It also comes with 3 different colored symbols on top, dont be dumb like me - to remove and replace them you take the knob off and push a pen thru it to pop off the little plastic symbol piece. Only downside is since it is metal if its in the sun it turns really hot or if its cold out it can actually peel of skin.

ive got the other part of a cam thats broken all you need to do is break it where you want to and thread one end. i can make one for ya and sell it. if ur interested email me at [email protected] and ill show u pics of it and show u what im planning on doing with it.
