This problem has been slowly progressing.....Starting about 3 weeks ago the heat in my car went from really good to almost nothing...now the only time I get good heat is right after I accel. hard. The next step of the problem was last week after getting into my car after the car wash, it was probably idling for about 5 mins when the guys were drying it, the temp gauge was almost all the way up, but as soon as I pulled out of the parking lot, it dropped quickly back down to about the 3rd line where it usually sits. I'm thinking this could be a water pump problem and maybe the coolant isnt flowing as it should, but before I attack it I figured I'd see if any NICOmaniacs had any other ideas. Thanks

Its the stock clutch fan....how should I go about bleeding it? Isn't there a bolt/plug at the top of the radiator that I can take out to release the air, because it's the highest point of the system??

bleed your cooling system, just run the car with the radiator cap half off till you get to running temp, then fill the coolant.

Alright so I bled the system about 10 mins ago using the 10mm bolt at the top of the water neck. That def. helped my heat problem, works better than ever now. Now hopefully that will fix the rare overheat problem that I had...like I said it's only happened that one time so far about a week ago. Do you think that these problems were linked? Or just a coinsidence?? Thanks guys.

yes, they are most likely linked, thats how I always know my coolant is low, it wont blow heat at odd times and then it will randomly overheat, you may also want to get a 300zx radiator cap, they hold higher pressure for better cooling
