Headlights low beam turn off after 20 seconds

I have A 2001 infinity QX 4
When I turn on the headlight low beam the right headlight goes on then shuts off after 15 to 20 seconds
The left headlight goes on sometimes and doesn't other time but also shuts down help!

Have a read through this thread and see if anything there catches. My offhand guess is you need new ballasts. If that ends up being the case your best (only?) option is to hit up eBay or a pick-n-pull yard. New units are either not available or beyond expensive, can't recall which. Just be sure the connector on it is the same as what you have; there are two styles out there. Also, many other Nissans and Infinitis use the same ballast, so don't limit your search to QX4s.

One quick test is to swap the ballasts and see if the behavior switches sides. If it does, it's the ballast. If not, something like the wiring or bulb may be at fault. Just be sure to disconnect the battery before monkeying with them and wear gloves. The ballasts pump out some very high voltage.
