Hey guys I was wondering if anyone could upload pictures of only their OEM headlights (no overlays). I want to get those angel eyes/halo eyes and a headlight company is willing to make them. Also, does anyone know if the headlights for the new altimas are the same as the new altima coupes? Thanks!

If you dont know what I'm talking about:http://www.sharkracing.com/ace...l.jpg

P.s. Anyone live in or near Concord, CA. The company might need a car to do R&D with.

Oh, that would be awesome! I would upload a pic but I'm at work... Being very productive

The headlight housing, however, doesn't have the projectors that most other modern cars have. To make the angel eyes work, the company would have to alter the headlights a lot, essentially making new ones.

Keep us posted on the going on please

Here's a pic of the headlight:

See what I mean? No projector, only reflector housing for the bulbs.

The first company said that the headlight is too weird and doesn't have any real curves...They said they're willing to take a look though. They're located in Norcal. I'm still waiting on responses from the other companies.

Cool, I'm glad that you're looking into this. I would be all over new headlights, the stock ones aren't exactly exciting.

Just read that the company is in Concord... That's about 60 miles from me, an hour drive, not too far.

Keep us posted on the progress, and let me know if they need a car for R&D

I just got in touch with sharkracing, an aftermarket parts company HQed in Korea. They sent me this:

Hello, We can make the actual angel eye kit, using our V3 or V4 rings. However, the end customer will have to do the installation themselves, since there's no way to purchase Altima headlights in Korea. If someone were willing or able to send us a set of headlights, we can install the rings, make an installation manual with pics, and then sell just the rings to other customers who could do the installation. Our rings are universal, since they come in so many sizes. Let me know if you are interested. Our angel eyes are one of our most popular products.

I might send my headlights to them. The first picture above is kinda what the new headlights would look like: http://www.sharkracing.com/ace...l.jpg

I'll keep you guys posted.

Alphapig - The first company umnitzu said that it would be nearly impossible to make an angel eyes kit for our car. They said that they would be more than happy to take a look at someone's car to see if they can do it but I'd say its not worth the 2 hr round trip drive just because there is no guarantee. However, if someone is able to take more detailed photographs of our headlights, I'll email them back with the pictures and see if they can maybe reconsider.

Sounds cool man. Shipping your headlights to Korea is kinda far though, don't you think?

Those Koreans sound pretty legit though. Hope they can make something work, would be sweet.

Angel eyes have been looked into before, and most suggested that, short of restructuring the entire headlight, its not possible given our headlight housing. Headlights function on certain housings due to a basic design. The design on our headlights conritubutes to the beam pattern observed. Obstructing the headlight with some sort of round angel eye contraption would significantly distort the beam pattern.

One alternative would be to do a projector retrofit, and then do the angel eye around the projector. That method is going to be expensive, but it'll be very clean, and you won't have to worry about using the housing to set the beam pattern because the projector lens will do that!

Yup, this is completely true... To have "real" angel eyes a projector is needed. This is very much possible, though, as can be seen with cars that have been on the market for a while.

Many older gen cars (take the last gen Eclipse for example) did not come with projector headlights. But, a 5 minute stroll through ebay motors will give you tons of after market headlights that have been completely remade to accommodate both projectors and angel eyes.

My point is that these things are very possible. Perhaps if we show enough interest, a company can develop these?

Hey man,

I just asked umnitza (the one in Concord who makes angel eyes for bimmers -refer to second photo) and this is what they said:

I asked around and one of our guys lives 10 minutes from you. Would you still like to take a look or is it a definite no?

Re:

Kevin

We’ll be happy to look at it. It’s not guaranteed but we’ll look at it.

üm•nitza inc.

Shoot them an email: [email protected] looked at our photos and they said probably not but maybe things will change if they see the actual headlight. If you don't mind the time it might definitely be worth it! Keep us posted if you decide to go with it!

Here's some of the stuff they've done with Nissan cars:http://www.umnitza.com/index.php?cPath=114_115

You should totally do it notaverage. If you live so close there's nothing to lose, and potentially free stuff to gain!

Has anybody thought about getting black headlight housings or painting it themselves. I think this guy did it himself and they look pretty good on a black car. zer...84843

Rather than retrofitting it would probably end up being a completely new headlight. I assume that it will take a while for new, aftermarket headlights to come out, but we need to start somewhere right?

Plus, if that Umnitza company were to actually go through with developing an angel eye solution for notaverage, isn't it fair to assume that they would do it at least for a discount?

Just trying to be positive here
