I know this post is about headers, but I noticed that you have pdm cams. What I want to know is, do you like them and did they give you a substantial power gain for your money.

Can you physically bolt the heat shield back up when using other headers. This question has not been answered.

yeah i havnt dynoed it yet but the cams added a good amount of power and the idle isnt that bad. If you have the money go for the nismo cams i heard they are a little better because you dont have to mill your cam towers down. They just drop in.

with any header EXCEPT HOTSHOT, yes you can bolt the heat shield back in place with a little bit of bending.

With the hotshot, the heatshield will not fit. Use ThermoWrap for the Hotshot if you're worried about heat.

I was under the impression that you didnt need to mill anything, thats what they say on the website. How much did you need to mill the towers?

Thanks Aries. The heat shield will be for aesthetic purposes, not for heat.

does anybody with a s13 (DOHC) have a hotshot header, cat, and exhaust? the reason i ask is because i need to pass emissions, and need to have the cat.

i have a 5zigen muffler, and am getting custom pipes, but if the header is too long to keep a cat, then i should wait untill i buy the header and a high flow cat and get it all done at one time. that should work just fine, right? that would probably be the best way too, since i hear that the header and cat dont line up right.

Why don't you just wait till you pass smog first then replaced all that? If your going to replace the header, you will most likely remove the exhaust anyways.

So basically theres something wrong with all of the headers right? I heard hot shot headers lining doesnt match up and you have to fix the holes for the bolts or something. Greddy headers break(?) and the rest just sucks. I want some headers to but still cant decide seeing how they all have problems. I would think greddy had good products since they've been in the game for a while, but i wouldn't know i dont have headers.

On obdII cars especailly the s14 lose the dummy cat under the driver's seat and install a high flow. then relocate the 2nd o2 sensor behind it. This will eliminate the engine light problem that results from using the HS header. Other than that a great item well worth the money. Later

yo honda eater man. I had regrinds done from pdm. i dont know if they sell dropins now, but as with any regrinds you have to mill the towers down. Hey and if anybody says differently, learn me some cam mechanics. I had a shop do all the work and i remember something about .8? Anyway it was all there with the literature so booyeah.

ok i found my answer! the hotshot will not eliminate my cat.it will also line up if you unbolt the hanger for the cat. at least that is what the review said. guess next time i could be a little more patient and read a little more closely!

HS headers are cheaper at ptuning.com, but I dont know if they have free shipping. With shipping The'll probably be around the same price as there are at http://enjukuracing.com/

no one likes to get ripped off, but your post had absolutely nothing to do with the topic. feel free to start another thread in one of the general chat forums.
