Quote »who's making them??
A small, relatively low-key company in Alabama.Quote »and are these for both FWD and RWD? arent the flywheels different.
They make them for both FWD and RWD. Yes, the flywheels are different between the RWD and FWD, but the AWD is the same as the RWD (I don't use the AWD flywheel). My standard flywheel is down to 15lbs and it only cost $50 (worth it).Quote » cut from billet aluminium?
Yes!Quote »FOR STREET AND RACING!! .... offers both street and race flywheel versions, with the street type being about three pounds heavier. Both types are made from 6065-T651 aircraft aluminum, which is stronger than the cast steel that stock flywheel are made from. The clutch disk mating surface is bronze disk that is fused to the aluminum at 3500 degrees. All bolt patterns are drilled and tapped, and grade #8 pressure plate bolts are furnished.
Quote »MORE ACCELERATION !! For maximum acceleration there is no substitute for an aluminum flywheel. The decrease in rotating mass allows maximum engine revs to be reached very quickly, resulting in a startling decrease in acceleration time. In some racing organizations, aluminum flywheels have actually been outlawed because they give such a huge advantage.
Quote »Most flywheels are priced in the $450 to $520 range. Please contact us for a price on a flywheel for your imported car. These are made up on order and delivery is approx three weeks from the time we receive your order.
