Wow, I'm always surprised at the people who don't know where the brake booster is.

Having said that, see the hose that the picture points to? Follow it to the right, and it will attach into the booster, a black round "box." Disconnect the hose from the booster and let the vacuum suck up the Seafoam from a cup, or you can use a funnel.

Either way, do 1/3 of a can at a time and let it sit for 15-20 per time just so you can be sure it's nice and clean.

oh yeah, when you unhook it, angle it upwards... even though the hose wont want to... and just keep pouring that stuff in there

Hey guys, sorry for digging up an old thread, but is the order in which you do the Seafoaming (i.e. intake, oil, gas) important? I've got all the materials necessary on hand, just wonding if I should do one before the other.

Would this stuff seriously help out a 93 240? I've read a little about it but don't know anyone thats used it firsthand...

i dont think so... i could be wrong. i did gas, and oil.... when i used up the full tank of gas, then i changed the oil and did the intake.

and for me... i notice a difference on my past car. havent had the time to seafoam my new car yet. where loveless... ask him how he feels about his car after he seafoamed it.

Do the thing for the intake first, and then add to the crankcase so you CAN drive the piss out of it! :)
So could I just use it in the gas tank and just in the vacuum hose (intake) and NOT use it in the crankcase if I didnt want to change the oil?

Just got done running Seafoam through my engine. Can't say I feel a night and day difference, but the engine definaly runs smoother. Past 5000 RPM, the exhaust started sounding raspy, but no more after this. I replaced the O2 sensor and my plugs afterwards, so I'm sure those help in smoothing things out, too. The engine has 173,000 miles on it, that O2 looked like it was the factory one!

Hey guys...sry to once agian bring up an old thread but its good info anyways = D.

Well i also have a bottle of seafoam but i got a few questions also.

If i put the stuff into the crankcase (oil), do i just keep the car running on idle (for the oil pump to circulate the oil?) or do i keep put the car off for 20 mins.- the directions arnt too clear about that. ( putting seafoam will thin your oil buit is it ok if its idling?)

Also, when i pour through the booster line, the directions say that i the mixture must be %50 fuel & %50 seamfoam. Is this neccessary or can i just pour pure seafoam.

When it says to turn off the ignition, do i turn off by completly flooding the motor with seafoam or just when the smoke appears ?

and last question, when i pour it in the gas tank, i pour just 1/3 into the tank and then fill it with 10 gallons or is it another ratio ?

I'm by no means an expert, but I'll answer what I can.

With the oil, I read elsewhere that running your engine hard with Seafoam in the oil would dangerously thin your oil, so I just added the Seafoam, then let it idle for 20 min. No ill effects came from this in my case. Couldn't really notice a difference after this step, either, so I can't say if it made that big a difference or not.

I don't think that 50/50 thing applies to our KA's. I don't have a bottle in front of me, but I think that had to do with carburated engines.

The first time I ran a 1/3 bottle of Seafoam into the brake booster hose, I dunked the hose into the cup, which sucked the Seafoam up in about half a second, and quickly killed the engine. I was able to start the motor just fine, and lots of smoke insued, but I'm guessing the Seafoam didn't have a chance to get very deep into my engine. The second and third times, I fed the Seafoam in slowly, slowly enough to keep the motor running while I fed it in. Those times, it produced a ton more smoke than the first. Since smoke is a good thing in the case of Seafoam, I'm guessing the Seafoam had a better chance to do its job the second and third times.

Again, I don't have a bottle in front of me, but I think it specified the ratio of gas/Seafoam. Another thread on Seafoam said to add 10 gal after pouring in Seafoam, which is what I did. Worked for me.
