Taking the dash in the second gen sedan and put it in the first gen??? Had that one in the back of my mind for the longest, I just haven't had the time or dedication to follow it more. Now I think I have all the time in the world

This should be an interesting project. But, why would you want to do this? I am just curious! However, if you ever accomplished such a goal, I would love to see it. You never know, I might just give you the project to do the same for my car.

Because there was an interior redesign in 05.

Don't you have an 07?

I would see that as a lot of work and a whole lot of rewiring requirements and custom mount brackets and such. I am assuming you are talking about taking a '07+ dash and putting it in a '03-06 sedan?

Would probably be much easier to simply trade-up.

Sorry Blackman, but it makes about as much sense to me as remodeling a singlewide trailer to have million dollar views! At the end of the day, you've still got a trailer!

Just the engineering logistics of putting a 2nd Gen dash in a 1st Gen G makes me shudder. If I were you, I'd just save my cash and get a nice used 2nd Gen when you can afford it. Besides, you'll enjoy dreaming about it in the meantime.

Welcome to Nicoclub by the way, Glad to have you aboard! Keep bringing us ideas like that, it's fun to think about.

It would be easier to trade up but it wouldn't accomplish what some of us want. Some of us prefer the older body style but really like the newer interiors...so why not combine the 2?

It's pretty common thing to see a mkII(1985-92) GTI with a mkIII(1993-1998) interior. Why not try it with a G? I like the idea, GO FOR IT

Yes i did compare the VW to the G to get a point across. Not that a early 90's GTI can compare to a modern G, but works to prove the point. And yes I think the G35 looks better than the G37, its why i got it.....although i like the interior more. I had the choice between both when i bought mine.

I though you meant you liked the early sedan body style more than the newer one and I almost shat myself.

ok well here goes....... My credit score sucks so I have a really hard time getting an 03 civic, plus they want a retarded amount of money down like 50% that equals to about 6k. Well Im not going for that, there are those buy here pay here places that will go to auction and get you the car you want with in reason for 2k down. An 03 sedan falls into that fall into that category. Yes that car will be out of warranty so I am pretty much be free to mod the **** out of that baby!!! 8) Now yes I love the new sedan but all the mods will void the warranty, well at least the dealers hate working on modded cars here. No I don't have alot of money but I figure that if it takes a while to put the dash together, which it will then I can buy parts here and there as I go. Plus I can't save money for the life of me......... HEY I had the crazy idea of putting the front clip of an 07 on to a 03, down to the measurements and even had a shop that was totally on to that stuff but then I thought that would have been ricy..

Forget a vehicle for awhile.Walk or bicycle to school and take some english courses so you can learn how to write complete sentences.Save money in the meantime.Get a better job using your new writing skills. Then look for a vehicle.People with poor credit will continue to get #ucked throughout their lifetime.GO DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT WHILE YOU ARE STILL A YOUNG MAN.

Just my $.02

Good luck

Unless you know what you are doing do not mess with the interior. It will cost you a fortune to pay someone to fix what you messed up. Or if you leave it messed up you will destroy all chance of a decent resale value. If you had some crappy civic no one would care. The g35 is a really nice car. Don't f#ck it up.

For once we agree!!! lol.

I'd say forget about trying to redo the interior. It will still look better than the civic's.

As for your credit. There's no time like the present to fix it. I've been fortunate/blessed enough to have a parent who works in the real estate/mortgage business and seeing all of those people mess up their credit and all hopes of financial freedom taught me a good lesson. My wife and I have low 700s.

One thing some of the younger members do not understand is how important that credit score is?Never pay cash for anything, use a credit card. Preferably one that gives rewards and doubles warranties.PAY THE BALANCE IN FULL EACH MONTHWatch your credit score rise.

None Taken....

I actually have excellent writing skills, as proven by the retarded test they give at school, aced them all. This is a forum, not a job interview or a 500 page thesis. I just don't put that much into my writing, I get my point across and that is what matters for now. No frills, just chillin. As for my work....... wouldn't trade it for the world; right out of high school I became a firefighter, then decided to go to college. Now I'm a Server and I make a lot of money, lets just say if I need to make my rent in 2 days, I can. I build computers for the fun of it, and party A LOT !!!!!! Lets just say I'm more than happy with my life, just not with car dealerships who try to take you for a ride....EX.... DEALER 1- 05 SCION TC 60kMI DRIVE OUT- $13.9K DEALER 2- 08 SCION TC 03 MI DRIVE OUT- $14.5k

WTF!!????!!

This was last week, toyota approved me (got the letter today ) so I'm happy But I still want a "G"
