The idea has come across my mind but seams like its do-able but not the best. Better yet, anyone sleep 2 people in their car? I would imagine that you wouldnt be able to have anything really in the car but a roof box would help with that.

I have, and I dislike that tent/shelter. I have tents that I would use but they are only 3 season tents and I would not trust using that cartent here in Alaska. The reason why I would stay the night in my car is if there is a big snow storm (up to 3 feet of dense snow) which no 3 season tent could handle. So, the car as shelter would a better option. The car tent is a cool idea but practical for everyone.

ALASKA? Sorry, I didn't know you were out camping with Caribou. I was going to ask why you'd be out and about when there's a chance of getting 3' of snow, but you're in Alaska. :ohno:

What emergency supplies do you keep in your Rogue? While it doesn't get Arctic cold here in Delaware, I've often wondered about how the Rogue would fair as an emergency shelter. Sounds like I need to check http://www.rei.com/

I keep a lighter, ~4k in calories(nature valley bars, dried apricots), a rock hammer under neath my seat(never know when you may see a rock outcrop, annihilate any ice in your way, or break your windows), a heavy moving blanket, some fleece blankets, headlamp, mechanics gloves, and a leatherman ALWAYS on me, empty water bottle, contractor bag, electrical tape, first aid kit, and flares. In the winter I usually always have a go bag filled with ski boots, snowboard boots, snow jacket and pants, winter gloves, extra layers, helmet, and goggles, beacon probe, and shovel. If the worse comes to worse then i usually have a backcountry pair of skis on my roof rack along with 3 other pairs of additional skis so I have the capability of skinning out for 12 miles or so in a day. I dont venture out from the road system in my Rogue and our roads are very well maintained so there isnt much to worry about. This may seam a lot but I just leave that stuff in my car for when I teach skiing or snowboarding all winter long.
If youre going to keep a bag in your car then I would suggest getting a synthetic bag instead of a down bag. Synthetic does much better being stored for a longer period of time and its cheaper. If you wanna go on the cheap side then you can always combine 2 summer or fall bags to make a winter bag.

Actually, twice and once in the front seats very recently. I usually get free comped rooms in Atlantic city but I ran out of nights while still there but I wanted to extend my entertainment, so I positioned the back seats down and both me and my companion slept in the back. Thankfully, we are short in stature. But since it was cold, we woke up with all the windows having condensation. :lolling: We had backup blankets and pillows. The second time was after losing my bank card during a trip, I couldn't keep my reserved comped room so we ended up sleeping in the back again.

Just a few days ago, while driving home from AC, I was so tired I had to sleep in the Rogue every few hours in the front seat at various shopping centers, gas stations, and finally a McDonald's. But it is more convenient for short people. One could still place the front passenger seat down and McGyver something up to fill the leg space behind it for support. Then a tall person could sleep easily in the Rogue too. :inoutgay:

I sleep all the time in the Rogue when needed. :naughty:
