I picked up a mobil one filter for my redtop, and its smaller in height than the one i pulled off, obviously less oil capacity, which is gay. wtf. I need to just relocate, and use one for a disel truck but, what number are you guys using for the mobil filters.

the mobil 1 filters ive been using were MT-104. i believe you can use a KA24 one as well according to one thread i read here.

better off just getting OEM filters.

After a little searching I discovered that the filter for the S13 and S14 240SX is the same part # from Nissan as the B13 and B14 sentras with the GA16DE. This is the filter I use on my redtop, it has a much larger can then the SR20DE filter, I believe because the FWD SR filter location is very restrictive in size. I have been running the 15208-00003 for 3 years and 70,000 miles with no problems. I get them straight from Nissan, and they give me a discount because I buy them in bulk, the first time I went to get them, they only had 12, so I bought them all, when I used all of those I went back and got 15 more, Ive got 6 or 7 left sitting in the closet.

^thanks! I always disliked the small size of the Sentra filter and wondered what would fit in the stock location. Yeah, the Mobil 1 filter is much smaller, regardless of better filtering it is very small.

Stay away from fram anything, they are garbage. Many people on Nico will vouch for that. Ive also seen independent filter studies done, fram is always dead last. Go with Wix, Purolator pure one, or a genuine Nissan filters.

I had a issue recently with oil filters and oil filter housing. Good thing I have 2 spare SR long blocks. So I did a comparison with a S13 housing and a S14. Take a look.http://www.zilvia.net/f/showthread.php?t=170507

Part numbers for purolator filters at the bottom of the first page.

LOL

How did you even get the s14/b14 filter on their in the first place? You must have cross threaded the filters or just gotten darn lucky! Wow!

The best and only filter to use is OEM, for a B13 sentra

They thing is it went on there smoothly each time. The intake manifold blocks the housing so I still don't know why the S14 oil filter lasted as long as it did on that S13 housing. It is a miracle
