well my friend and i are making hard tops for a convertible, mine should be done in a bout a month. i knwo this was covered but who is interested, the price is about 850 +s&h you can get either a two piece (rear section adn targa section) or a fuill one piece.

i just need a head count to see who is interested and who isn't. it should be done in a month and will be made out of fiberglass for now.

Do you have any pics of both of them?

I'd be interested, but I'd like to know what they look like?

I guess there was a previous thread about this that I missed?

Definately interested. Asking price seems fair.

Questions:

What material will this be made of?How much does it weigh?How/where will it bolt on?What is the interior clearance compared to the convertible w/ top up?Will there be any modding/removing of anything to put the hardtop on?

Longshot, but will there be any testing done on this hard top? i.e. rollover protection, etc?

If this is a quality piece and easy to install, I may just make the drive up to Norcal, install it & drive it back, rofl - I'll probably be visiting some friends up north anyway.

crappys13- Which one are you getting made for your car? The one piece or the targa?

i am gonna try and upload pics today. trustr me i am not getting your hopes up. this si the real deal. jdm vert?...liek a real vert....i figure it cant be any different. the only thing is you guys have to look into sometype of support for the rear section of the top b/c the top is fiberglass and you need to get the m to mount in a sturdy position, options will be th windows btw, you either can have a rear window and side windows or the the rear. iam am getting the whole thing done and i am getting the targa. only reason the guy did it for me is casue he think my car should be set up for show, so i think it will look good....pics later ok?

You should make one that would fit a coupe, so you could cut the top off your coupe and have a roadster w/ removable hard top.

What is the weight of this thing going to be? With alot of the hardtops for verts, they end up being heavy, bulky, and difficult to remove and usually require 2 people to support it. Not to mention finding a place to store them when they are removed.

Likewise, would the removable targa fit inside the trunk and be sealed so the car could be left in the rain?

I would also imagine that shipping an item of that size would not only be expensive, but would require fort-knox-style packaging to prevent damage.

Its a cool idea, I just don't know how practical it would be. Personally I'd like to see a speedster-style fiberglass top boot.

800 sounds reasonable for a piece that won't fly off on the highway, looks oemish (i.e. make the vert look like a coupe), and won't crack easily.

Pics & usage review will tell all.

And I will be the first in line, needed an excuse to make a road trip from so cal to nor cal for a couple months now .
