Since this has turned into a BG-44k lovefest I'll add my two cents. Run it on a long interstate trip where you can just run 3/4 tank out at once and have stuff work consistently with a few WOTs thrown in.

So I'm confused. You change the oil after Seafoam, especially when you run it through the crankcase, right? But I can throw a can of BG44K in the tank and be cool right? I just got the injector put in, so I want to BG it and the other 7. But I'm not due for an oil change for another 2000 miles.

Hey, that's is what I plan on doing on my trip back to Alabama from Oklahoma.

Haitian King..., I just won 4 bottles of BG44K from eBay for $25. Go to the guy who is selling 4 bottles/per auction. A lot of people are not bidding on his items. I bid lastnight and didn't even check it and I just won.

You have his name?

I can't find a four can deal for $25. They're all like 40-80 bucks.

No solvents in the crankcase while the engine is running other than BG QuickClean immediately before changing the oil and avoiding high revolutions or loads on the engine.

I was reading about this guy who did the seafoam in his S13. He said he used 1/3 in the gas tank, 1/3 in the crank case, and 1/3 through his vacuum line into the manifold.

He said that his car smoked like crazy. But then it ran like a champ.

I'm honestly paranoid about doing things under the hood, especially with the Seafoam. I'm scared that I'll do something wrong.

But I can pour seafoam in the crankcase before an oil change right? The whole can? Or just 1/3 like the guy with the S13?

i would personally think that BG44k-ing the car finishing the tank and than when u fill up your 91+ oc gas you go ahead and use the seafoam stuff and after sea foam a nice oil change will work the best i think im saying all of this since my oil change in around the next 300 miles = ]

okay ppl.. so seafoam is kool, maybe not as rich as BG, but it will work for ppl who dont have the 25$ to spend atm!.My question is Where should i add it to if 1. im getting a anticipated pickup sometimes. I mash the gas to go from 40mph to 60, and it anticipated. 2. Also, my idle isnt so ruff yet, but it feels like it wants to a lil bit.

Im thinking somewhere that goes to the injetor, but idk where.. The reason i ask this is because ive heard ppl say, putting these solvents inside of gas tanks is not as effective as going thru some hose that idk whats its called.! And prolly dont know where it is.

Maybe in March, ill start using BG again!

I've heard of Seafoam being poured straight into the gas tank for fuel system cleaning. Then in through the brake booster line for air system cleaning, and then poured directly into the engine oil for a crankcase cleaning.

I'm a bit skeptical, but I've heard numerous success stories. But I'm stikcing with the BG 44K.

You can't round up $25? Come on man.

well.. its not the fact of rounding up 25$... i need at least 2 of those.... because i havent been taking care of my baby lately. i kinda went broke these last 2 mos and no job..I need at least 50. But as u can see from what i said above, i dont have 25 to give, i got 8 to give, but not 25. Anyways, i wanna try something new. And im tired of putting BG44k in my tank, i want to put it in a hose, so it can get direct good effect. For now, ill call this practice when i do it with the seafoam stuff.. :-p

We just added the seafoam like maybe 30mins ago in the 96Acura 3.2 TL... It smoked me away. I noticed a couple things while we did this:::: Put it in thru the PCV valve:::1. Someone has to be reving up the car a lil bit.. car tried to die while taking the seafoam thru there.2. Put the valve back where it belong and poured the rest in the oil. **i used 2/3 in valve and 1/3 in oil**** car was smoking white while we were pouring... after we were done, we let car idle, and the smoke started getting like a darket grey for about 2 mins, then back light grey and smoked for about 5 mins. Took it for a spin and voila, car is shifting better, and doesnt run like its pulling a 18 wheeler anymore!

Oh yea i forgot one more thing, we used transtune seafoam for the transmission, i guess thats what made the transmission perform alot better

I think that was one of the posts i read about Seafoam. It worked fine for them. Wes said Jesda showed him how to do it through the brake line booster in his Q.

BG sells an air cleaner system too.

I have used the SEAFOAM products and they do work well at removing varnish/gum in the transmission if you have let it go too long. I use Chevron fuel almost exclusively and do not have injector deposit problems. I HAVE lost several injectors to ethanol swelling the plastic injector body and pulling the electric coil apart. No deposits anywhere in the fuel system or downstream of the injectors. Upstream is another story. Never had PCV issues or EGR deposits, but do get deposits around throttle valve (clean them every year or more often if idle quality deteriorates. Never had to clean the plenum though it does have some crud--not near enough to influence air flow though. Intake valve surfaces appear as-new. Most recent Texas Emission test (168K on '92Q45a, original O2 sensors, JWT ECU, shows very low CO,HC, NOx both low and high speed parts. O2 sensors still switch rapidly.

I see NO reason to pour any solvent into intake manifold. It will run along the bottom dissolving crud, moving it into the engine and onto the catalyst. If the intake is THAT fouled, I would pull it apart and clean off the car.

Well that clears that up.

A no go on the Seafoam for intake cleansing.
