Got that injector changed. And it only cost $45. The BG shop I took the car to were being d!ck and refused to do anything other than what it said in their "computer". They wanted $200 for labor. $118 for the flush. $40 for a gasket. (Pretty sure I didn't need one of those) and other miscellaneous charges.

I just purchased a 93 TCU. And I'm bidding on 4 cans of BG 44K. Silly me, I went to Autozone and asked for it and the dumb chick behind the counter didn't know anything about it. You would think that SOMEONE working there would know anything about it, but alas, it's not the case. I didn't want to risk putting in some $7 bottle of "Fuel Injector Cleaner". You guys swear by BG.

So, that being said and done, all that's left to do for the year is to get a final detail/seal before winter, tint my windows and replace my 6x9's. (They sound bad on some songs, even with the bass turned down to -10.)

Come spring, I think I'll get started on body work and exhaust. I just got a line on a guy who specializes in Presidents and is willing to help me convert the Q.

If all goes well, I'll buy another Q and keep that as a sleeper. Put an ECU and TCU in and burn people.

Do you notice an improvement with the replacement injector?

I haven't taken it out yet. I just started it in the driveway. So smooth. No more rough idling.

I might be taking it out tonight. It's 11:14 here, so I'll have to be careful. And I just bought a 93 TCU for $47. Hopefully it gets here by Wednesday.

I can't find info for the ECU or TCU anywhere in the FSM Mike. All of the diagrams look like Picasso drew them while on an alcohol fueled bender. At least to me. I can't make heads or tails out of it.

I haven't a clue on how to install it.

To each it's own. Don't get me wrong BG is a great product, but I've used Chevron Techron and it works great. Bob the oil guy guys gives great reviews of the injector cleaner.

Glad the car is running.

Anything else is just not worth it.

I'm bidding on 4 cans of BG 44K. I believe you guys. You've never steered me wrong.

I'm definitely getting a can of BG.

If I put it in now, should I put in another can at my next oil change? I think I have about 2000k until the next one.

I use SEAFOAM right before each oil change and it works great. As well as RESTORE brand engine restorer right after the oil change.

I've never used Restore, but I second Seafoam. Its a fantastic product worth using every once in a while.

So Seafoam is good? But BG is better?

I only want the best. Nothing but premium for me.

You can buy BG44k fuel system cleaner from Scottsdale Infiniti. 1-888-216-5328. I recently found it through a Dobbs service shop in St Louis. You can also find it on eBay.

Wes showed me how to use Seafoam to clean the upper intake by adding it through the brake booster hose. Thats how I use it on every car I own. Its not as effective as BG44k for fuel systems, imo.

If you have any local chain auto shops check there. I get my BG products from a Raben Tire in IN, IL, KY. $15 per can for BG44k

Yeah. Autozone doesn't have it.

I'll check the BG shop and see if they'll sell me a can. They're a Sunoco Gas station but they come up on the bgfindashop.

How do you do that? You have pics of the brake booster?

The brake booster is the big cylindrical object mounted to the firewall on the driver's side. There is an air hose going from the booster to the top of the plenum. Disconnect the middle part of the hose (its a two-part air hose). While the car is idling, add Seafoam VERY SLOWLY to the PLENUM SIDE of the hose. If you add too much Seafoam too fast, the car will sputter out.

Then, rev the heck out of the engine until the smoke has mostly cleared. Then go for a drive on the highway.

These instructions are also on the can.

Holy Sh*t!! Are you serious!? 15%...man I am really throwing away my money! Won't purchase it again. Hey King, we might end up battling each other on eBay for the BG44k lol! Well, I purchased a BOGO at Pepboys for the Techron cleaner. I'm about to go ahead and use that now and purchase some BG44k before my 12hr trip back to Alabama. Since we are speaking on fuel elements....I need a fuel filter. I will not purchase fram, but I've heard good things about Napa Gold fuel filter. Should I purchase?

Last time I looked at Joe's website, it was $20 a can.

Also, you should change your oil after running a tank with BG44k.

That's perfect timing. Once I travel from Tulsa, OK to Alabama, it will be time to change my oil. I need to go ahead and win the eBay auction. Sorry Haitian King..

BTW, your Range looks very nice! I plan on keeping my Q until the wheels fall off, but I do plan on purchasing a Range Rover or the Porsche Cayenne in the upcoming years.

I thought the oil change was necessary after running the Seafoam through the crankcase.

I jus changed my oil and I'm not due for another 2k.

BG is a magical little can, I really doubt there is anything out there for anywhere near that price that can compete. It works great on all cars, if you take apart a Q it wouldnt be too hard to see who loves BG and who refuses to add it because of its cost. The plenum is a filthy filthy area - I used BG all the time and still couldnt stand it so ended up cleaning it by hand a couple times

Evidence? Take a look at their site, and if you are willing make your own before/after pics - it works about as well as they claim (rare in the automotive industry)

I can't wait to try it. Can't find it in any shops around. I guess because it was Sunday. I'll try again during the week.

Wooh, watch the language lol. Yeah, I just checked and it's plenty of other auctions so we both won't end up bidding on the same product.

Thanks! It really is the greatest all-around vehicle I've ever owned.

A couple years ago I spent two weeks driving a Cayenne that a family friend left with us. It handled well around town and took off with authority, but it felt uncomfortably heavy on exit ramps and through sweeping curves. The interior had some cheapness and incomplete bits. I had to snap the trim around the center console into place, and there was already wear on the driver's seat from rubbing back and forth against the door during automated ingress/egress. I'm sure they've taken care of those flaws by now.

Also, it was a Cayenne S; I suspect I'd enjoy a turbo quite a bit more.
