I think amidst all the "What he should have done" and other practicality statments, a lot of people are missing the moral of the story. And that is to live life to the fullest how you see fit and not let anyone stop you from doing that.
I think it's really cool that he bought that Lamborghini and gave it daily, long distance, use instead of make it a complete garage queen. Granted he could have done this in any other (cheaper) car, but why? That's what he had his eyes set upon, so why not? I'm sure duing his adventure, that car became more than just an exotic that people take pictures of with their cell phone; instead, it became his companion, a release from the issues of the world. So what if he drove the car to the point where it doesn't run anymore? The fact is that when his life was in the gutter, that car and the joy it brought was the only consistent thing in his life at that time. This story is the perfect example of what the bond between a man and his machine should be like.
I tip my hat to this fellow.
