you put Italians and Germans together, something's gonna get broken.

Power per litre on it however, it's not that impressive...it's good, but it's not Honda S2K good.

I can't remember if the F20 uses a belt or a chain now...

regardless, that's my American dream right there....god I want the money to take my dream car all over the country.

This is the point. His life crashed into a wall, so he bought something he wanted, but never would buy, and had fun. Though an M5 is more affordable, more comfortable, and more practical, its not a freakin lamborghini.

Timing chains failed in 2.7L Dodge Intrepids at about the same mileage. Quite a bit cheaper than a Lambo though. Point being, timing chains going out are not entirely uncommon. GM's early 3.6VVT has this issue.

Lambo wouldn't be my choice, but that's a cool story!

I think amidst all the "What he should have done" and other practicality statments, a lot of people are missing the moral of the story. And that is to live life to the fullest how you see fit and not let anyone stop you from doing that.

I think it's really cool that he bought that Lamborghini and gave it daily, long distance, use instead of make it a complete garage queen. Granted he could have done this in any other (cheaper) car, but why? That's what he had his eyes set upon, so why not? I'm sure duing his adventure, that car became more than just an exotic that people take pictures of with their cell phone; instead, it became his companion, a release from the issues of the world. So what if he drove the car to the point where it doesn't run anymore? The fact is that when his life was in the gutter, that car and the joy it brought was the only consistent thing in his life at that time. This story is the perfect example of what the bond between a man and his machine should be like.

I tip my hat to this fellow.

I wouldn't say he deserves it. Hes not entitled to anything. I actually think this guy is a complete idiot for buying a exotic car like this and putting himself in few hundred grand in debt.

After what he went through... his life was ruined... he had no happiness. I would say that he definitely deserves it. Sure, it's not the worst that could happen but he sold his old house, his business, and a few of his cars for the retard that dumped him.

While it might've voided the warranty, any Audi dealer would've been able to service this car competently.

It's basically an R8 V10. The drivetrain is almost entirely the same.

I remember reading that the V10 in the R8 is just a detuned Gallardo engine, originally engineered by Lamborghini not Audi. Like Hashiriya stated, I'm still pretty sure he would have been able to get PM service done for it at an Audi dealership.

Lamborghini voids your warranty if you take it to an audi shop. Also...not every audi shop is equipped to service them. Needs a special proprietary scan tool.

He obviously didn't care too much for the warranty anyway. At least he might've avoided the catastrophic failure.

Regardless of who designed the engine, it's now found in way more Audis than Lambos. My neighbor has a V10-powered S6.

I really love going on solo road-trips (honestly the farthest I've driven solo was Carlisle, but I've driven with others on 6+hr trips) but I'm paranoid about bad things that could happen since I'm female. :frown: I should get a gun w. a c/w permit.
Wuss.
