I guess there are different handguns and rifles out there for different purposes. Jester needs to decide what he needs and what he is going to use it for.
Mr1der wrote:hahah it is a lot smaller...

Bud, that's .44 special though, just thought I'd let you know you got a typo chief.

yeah, the smaller loads usually are a little cheaper. .44 special I'm not too sure about though, being it can be hard to find at times due to less guns actually chambered in it.

a box of .38 is usually about 3 dollars cheaper then .357 though:D
Your correction was noted. I do love having the versatility of firing .357 magnum and .38 special out of my Taurus. Although, I was shooting tonight and got a big surprise when I touched off a hot round that had made its way a group of .38 special that I was firing. I went to Galyans today to get some ammo. I was tempted by their selection of large frame revolvers. I still want the impractical Super Redhawk chambered in the 454 Cassull round. Here are some random pictures for you 1der.

It disappeared. If you want it to disappear again, keep talking about it.

Oh yeah, you 5120kbps is soooo slow. Quit your whining you baby.

By the way all around practicality award goes to 9mm.

whateva, my connection thinks it's a 33.k at the moment...

I'm so gonna whine and comlain to the cable company.

I'd say all around practical goes to the .40S&W personally.

enough power to take down a whitetail, very suited to self defense, not bad on recoil, comes in very conceable guns.

9mm is seldom a one shot stopper.

most .40 rounds are subsonic too, easy suppression:D

Well not everyone is as good as a shot as some of us Mr. Wonder. 9mm wins the practicality award because most people will fire 3-4 times before they're done. Personally a .357 Magnum or an Anaconda would be perfect for me. I only need 1 shot to take someone down, 9mm or not. =)

it's not so much about accuracy either though, the .40 just has more thump to it.

a lot of people will actually empty the gun and keep pulling too.

9mm can't stop a car though, well, more than likely the .40 or .45 won't either...

who wants to use their car as a test bed?:D

I say we use a Q45, I mean they're cheap and nobody really wants them anyway. :)

Dude, seriously if I ever come out to TN, I'll hit you up, we'll do all this and I'll write an article on it.

Sweet I'll bring the .357 magnum and borrow and Anaconda. I say we try this on Camaros, Mustangs and Hondas as well.

Okay but the keys have to be in your pocket and the car starts cold, so you'll have to wait until it gets to operating temperatures.

heheheehe. Mr1der, this reminds me of the episode of Trigun where he fights the Nebraska Family's son and father, the part where the huge mechanical fist comes flying at him and using those 5 shots knocks it off course.

I think we could manage that?

haha

I don't think the VH45de would prove bullet proof in this case:D

aluminum meets .44 Mag 230'er and loses:D

I wouldn't do that to Greg's car though, that damn Wes though!:D

Been gone a day or two.

I am most likely going to get a wheel gun. For carry I have my P95dc in 9mm. I just want something to play with. I think I am between a larger calibur double action or a .45 colt or .32 H&R mag in a single action.

Still looking at the local shops. If I did get a semi auto, it would be a MK II.

Asleep Altima, What in the heck do you need a .50 cal sniper rifle for??? Not saying I wouldn't mind having one. Would be fun to play with. :D

My friend had a BFR .45-70. Now that is the deffinetion of hand cannon. But I could still fire it one handed with factory loads. Didn't hit what I was aiming at but hey...

I may go for a .44 Super Red Hawk or Black Hawk. I did love my Black Hawk. I guess I want know until I buy it.

I actually had one of the Kel-Tec P40's and didnt care for it. It keep stove piping. Not sure of a deffect on it, or i was just weak wristing it. I bought it when a few of my LEO associates bought them and the Kel-Tec .32's that were popular. I didnt much care for it or my Sigma .380. I like something with a little heft to it.

will do, I'd just make for a road trip I reckon, or perhaps at a meet...

how far from Nashville are you?

Oh, I seem to have this tendency to outshoot people with their own guns, not saying it'll happen by any means, but just letting you know in case it might offend you:)

JESTER that's what the P-40 my uncle has keeps doing. I'm not a weak wrister by any means though. They just don't hold up well after a while.:(

that's good, I'd probably just piss on your leg:D, I didn't mean it to sound that way though, I could care less about who's a better shot, it's just that I've shot with a few people that got mad about stuff like that...they suck though, I enjoy shooting with my uncle, he usually gets outshot but it really doesn't matter to him because at the end of the day he can knock down the coke bottle.

The way I see it, if someone is shooting better then you, well, you just need to practice more.

I personally suck with a rifle. Shotguns and pistols are a different story (haha, I better shut up before I make it sound like I'm an expert marksman:D)

no sadly they don't reciprocate...(this is going by Legally Armed in Tennesse circa 2002, it might've changed since, but I doubt it.) We can carry into Indiana though:rolleyes

I think Indianapolis is like a 6 hour drive from here...ok, maybe not that bad, but it's still a distance.

We need to have a nico gun meet, that'd be fun:D
