If it's road striping paint (I assumed it was) a clay bar will not remove it. Wetsanding will, but it will also remove too much clearcoat around the paint specs. You would need to use something like "Ronsonol" lighter fluid, or "WD40". The WD40 might work, might not. The lighter fluid will work. You will need to at least buff out the clear after using the lighter fluid. If you scrub the area with the lighter fluid, you will ruin the clearcoat. The reason that I suggestedcwetsanding, is after you use the lighter fluid, wetsanding will thin the clearcoat, and give it a nice slick look.abdoman wrote:I would not wet sand your car until you try a clay bar. A clay bar will remove paint overspray, especially latex paints. I've used a clay bar to remove paint. It's takes a lot of elbow grease, but you can really screw up your paint job if you don't wet sand properly.
