The GT-R would destroy a Z06! It's not really a fair fight though. No vids yet...the GT-R isn't really out yet, but I did beat the vette on the Nurburg ring. Show your buddies a youtube vid of that!

GT-R will beat it no question about it.It already did. Also there is several things more usefull too. Like the backseat and cargo space. Ask them how is the vette in snow or rainy weather. GT-R with Attesa AWD going to be a nice daily drive car too. Also Nissan is a tech car. Going to have a lot more technology available than the vette will give. Interior will be a lot nicer too.

Should be fine since the Shelby will just end up in a wall.

I'm still trying to talk my wife into trading both cars for a GT-R ($50k 07 Seqouia + $30k 07 G35 = $80k GT-r) ..... I LOVE that car. The low production numbers should keep the value up but when its a 3 year old I can probably afford one.

To answer your question the are 5 current production cars in the world faster then the GT-R and the Vette is not one of them LOL

Won't be much of a race since you can't hook-up that 4000 lb. pig mud-stains power!AWD beats RWD much every time with BIG HP numbers.

Sure is good looking though!

uh i think there is alot more than 5, maybe you mean production in gtr price range? and why can't everybody like a car for what it I love the raw power of the z06, and the complex nature of the GTR . But the New 08 Viper has 600+ horsepower and is better and you know it hehe j/k.

I should have said there are 4 current production cars faster then the GT-R around Nurburgring.

But at 0-60 in 3.5 seconds and 11.7 at 149 mph in the 1/4 mile I'm not sure how many cars are faster. List off the cars that you know of faster to 60 or faster in the 1/4 mile. Now how many are under $100,000?

Even the most potent version of your Viper the 2008 SRT10 ACR which is barely street legal by the way does 0-60 in 3.7 seconds. It ties the 1/4 mile at 11.7 but its only going 124 mph.

The 2003 Ferrari Enzo was faster although not currently in production it did 0-60 in 3.4 seconds and 1/4 mile in 11.3 seconds at 123 mph. The 2004 porsche GT did 0-60 in 3.7 seconds and the 1/4 mile at 11.1 at 130 mph. I know these are not production cars but they are some of the fastest cars ever made so if the GT-r is in between them to 60 you can understand our excitement.

The Viper and the Vette are nice cars but neither have a backseat and you might as well be driving a giant pen15

WTF? Someone's got their numbers totally f'ed up here. You aren't running 149mph in the 1/4 mile unless you're running 9 seconds dude.

As to the GTR DESTROYING a Z06...

I agree 149 mph 1/4mile is messed up something is really wrong. As much as i like nissans considering ived owned a pathfinder and now a M35 there is something about how that thing looks i really dont like. If it came down and i was going to buy a sports car in that price range i would take a corvette, but more likely a viper, or a used Aston Martin DB9. I really hate american cars, but i make an exception for the Viper and Corvette, because the american sometimes can make a good car.

Yeh the 149 mph trap speed is high for a mid 11 1/4 mile.

I pulled the numbers out of motortend December issue. On line they have removed the mph from the 1/4 mile numbers so they are probably wrong. 120's is good for 11 seconds. Although with 2 turbos maybe it does pick up mph on the top end? I know running power adders you sometimes get weird 1/4 numbers.

I guess we will have to wait until Nissan lets someone other then a Nissan driver behind the wheel and publish their numbers. Maybe they ran faster then 11.7 seconds and posted Nissan's 1/4 time and Motortrends 1/4 mile speed?

Motortrend did say they were able to get better times out of the GT-R then Nissan advertised but they didn't publish them.

Heres another thing you might think about. The 07 sedan gets 306 hp out of 3.5l, the 08 G37 gets 330 hp out of 3.7l. The GT-R has a 3.8l so it should make what 340-350 hp NA? Now add two turbos. Does it really make just 480 hp or is that what Nissan is advertising it makes?

I'd take the GT-r over a Vette/Viper any day.

Clicked your vetter club link just say a bunch of talk? Some crying about tires and questions about wet track? Nothing really interesting to me. I did resist the urge to join and be an A-hole

Look at the 1000+ horsepower supras and skylines, they run around 9-10 seconds at about 140-150 mph mile mark. So that 149 mph is downright wrong. As for the horsepower rating, it's highly unlikely they are lying because as of now hp ratings are all regulated with SAE, which basically all the manufactures have to follow, and are cloesly monitored.

You're probably right. Hopefully the car magazines will get one to test soon and be able to publish their numbers until then we will just have to listen to the Nissan propaganda.

I think it may be my next car though. Fast as balls with a backseat.

I love the way it looks!

I hope it gets that new paint that heals itself when it gets scratched.

NICE, you know edmunds has the slowest test times too!

I wonder what happened in the Motor Trend test when they ran a 149mph 1/4 mile speed.
