You'll need an RB25 transmission and about another $3-4K to do it right.

Well the hard part is done. And truth be told to get a 350hp SR20det is not really all that much cheaper to do then a mostly stock RB26. The RB with some exhuast should be putting down around around 330-370hp. And the RB has a lot more room for power with a turbo/fuel/and tuning.

All you need now is
Motor mounts/ transmission mounts
Wiring and any tuning software.
Driveshaft.
Any plumbing for intercooler/turbos/fuel and cooling.

Not sure but if you are doing the work yourself and have a RB25 transmission (which I assume you have) you be up and running for less then 3k. Maybe 2k if you get simple parts or buy used.

Note: If you have a RB26 transmission then the price is going to go up another 1500 or you going to have to heavily modify the transmission to run a rear wheel drive setup. You can find a RB25 transmission should cost around 1500.

What is this 2002 all over again?

Use the search button like everyone else. Google is your friend.

Research, build a list of parts you NEED, add to it a list of parts you Want, then price everything out. Its been done quite a few times, but too often, people run out of money or interest before the project is proper finished.

It is a big endeavor, time and money wise.

Build a budget, and stick to it. Get it done quickly to avoid losing interest.

The bottom line is though, generally speaking, if you have to ask, then the answer is too much. People who can afford it, dont ask about the cost.

If you are asking such broad basic questions about something on this level you should stop now. Give it to someone else to do. In the final analysis you will save money and have more fun.

You NEED and RB25 trans. You have to modify stuff to make it fit and spent I would think more than 2k. Sell the RB26 trans for a 25. It really sounds like you should have someone do it for you though.

Guess you'd better look for a local shop or something then.

what's the fun in that? to each their own i guess. what parts do you have all ready? did you take care of necessary maintenance, before dropping in the motor? do you have backup parts, s*** never fits right! are you buying legit parts or going the egay route? how much do you have set aside for parts that need custom fab'ed? i can go on and on..point is have a plan/list/patience. Not an easy swap and can cost you 7k-10k easy.

Then time and cost absolutely depends on where you live and who you take it to. A motor swap in LA or Atlanta will cost you more than a motor swap in Paris, KY. Make sure whoever you take it to is reputable and offers a warranty. If not, keep looking. Also, you really, really, really need an RB25 transmission. Sell just the RB26 trans ( or sell the motor and trans) and buy an RB25 setup. It'd be a lot easier. In any case, the RB26 trans is going to give you more headache than you ( or the mechanic who ends up doing the swap) want to deal with.

It will decimate all, if you put 15 grand or more in it, overnight parts from japan if you have to.

$25k and I'll fly a fabricator / RB specialist to your house to do the swap.

Rb26? I say you should go with the Gallo 24.

Search...Call the nearest performance shop in your area for conversion quotes, this isn't progressive or geico.

P.s. the r200 rear diff would also be something to look into.

I'm gonna laugh when after a few months you still don't have the 240 converted to a rb26.

I seem to remember having to swap the oil pump and oil pan for an rb25 as well...

I wonder why everyone starts out thinking an engine swap is so easy...

Everyone starts out as a noob. C'mon you've been there. I thought F&F civics with altezza headlights were cool at one point and all engine swaps were plug and play

Yeah, I remember. I just wonder why it comes off as so easy to most everyone at first.
